There are two neglected tourist destinations around Kunming, Yunnan. It is recommended to add them to your collection.

This trip to Yunnan also has two overlooked places that outsiders don’t know much about: Maitreya and Dongchuan.

Maitreya: Maitreya is the name of Maitreya Buddha. It is a county-level city in Yunnan. In order to correspond to this name, the local government built a 19.99-meter-high Maitreya Buddha in 1999. It is located in the Jinping Mountain Scenic Area. It is still very tall. It's spectacular. If you have time and like to climb mountains, you can go and see it. You have to climb 999 steps.

In addition, this place has an architecture-themed park, which is Maitreya Oriental Rhyme Community. Mr. Luo Xu, a geek in Yunnan architecture, built a castle with traditional Chinese red bricks that looks like a fairy tale. Some people say it looks like a woman's thighs and breasts, but I didn't see it. I thought it looked like a big earthen jar or a beer bottle.

I came here because of the name of this building. When I came here, I realized that the buildings in the entire park at the back continue the red brick and curvaceous feeling, and even have a little bit of the feeling of Park Guell in Spain.

Currently, there is a sea of ??colorful flowers being created in the scenic spot. Currently, there are fields of verbena, rosemary, and lavender in bloom, and there is also a hilltop that seems to be still growing flowers.

There are also several good hotels in the park: Maitreya Oriental MGallery Hotel, Maitreya Oriental Rhyme Niu Duoluo Music Farm. There is also a very high-end Western restaurant: Yunduo Western Restaurant (the price is quite expensive, it is recommended to have a cup of coffee or a drink and check in to take a photo). In addition to this place suitable for taking photos and checking in, you can walk from the sea of ??flowers to the core scenic spot. There is a dining area next to it, where you can eat fast food with relatively high price. It is recommended that lunch for the tour can be arranged here.

The next morning at 8 o'clock in the morning, I went to take pictures of the architectural attractions of Maitreya Oriental Charm. At about 9:30, I went to the Sea of ??Flowers to take pictures and check in. When I came back, I just went to the dining area to eat, and then went to Yunduo Western Restaurant for coffee. After taking photos and checking in, you can leave in the afternoon to see the Maitreya Buddha before heading back home, or you can go to the hot spring area of ??Maitreya City to stay one night and soak in the hot springs to relieve the fatigue of the day.

Transportation issues: Kunming can take the high-speed train to Mile South Station, which is near Dongfang Yun Community, which is suitable for weekend vacations in Kunming.

Dongchuan Red Earth Scenic Area is located in Dongchuan District, Kunming, but it still takes about 2 hours to drive to Kunming city. The red land here stretches from the hillside to the terrace-style structure below. It is a paradise for photographers. The rich colors are actually more beautiful than the Yuanyang terraces in my opinion.

Transportation: It is recommended to choose a self-driving tour, which is convenient for taking photos along the way.

Accommodation: There are quite a few farmhouse-like B&Bs in the local area, with prices ranging from tens of yuan to more than 100 yuan. The conditions are not bad. For example, the Kunming Caiyunxuan theme inn we booked this time is only 97 yuan/night, with breakfast For 10 yuan/person, you can live in the scenery. You can see the scenery from the balcony in the morning.

Arrangement: It is best to arrive before five o'clock on the day of arrival. You can go to Luoxia Valley to take pictures of the sunset and then check in at the hotel for dinner. Get up early the next day to take pictures of the sunrise and scenery, around 10:30. Left and one night was enough.

Preparations: Please wear cold clothes and sun protection in the morning and evening on the plateau.
