How many stars is a five-star hotel equivalent to?

Five diamond hotels have nothing to do with star hotels.

Star-rated hotels are evaluated by the National (Provincial) Tourism Administration, and the obtained star ratings show that all the buildings, facilities and services of the hotel are at the same level. In the national standard "Classification and Evaluation of Star Rating of Tourist Hotels", five-star hotels are the highest level of tourist hotels, which have detailed grading conditions in decoration, layout, facilities and services, and need strict evaluation and audit.

The rating of "Five Diamonds" often comes from unofficial institutions, and the standard is relatively loose, which is the product of its own evaluation system. Diversified evaluation system is beneficial for evaluators to compare and choose, but the problem of "Five Diamonds" is that its existence value is not to enrich the hotel evaluation system, but to hide under the reputation and signboard of the latter by virtue of the name of the grade similar to the star. In the face of "five stars" and "five diamonds", consumers should pay attention to the distinction.

Evaluation principles of star-rated hotels

The star rating obtained by the hotel shows that all the buildings, facilities, equipment and services of the hotel are at the same level. Tourist hotels are composed of several buildings with different building grades or facilities and equipment standards, and the star rating agencies of tourist hotels should assess the star rating according to the actual standards of each building. After star rating, buildings with different star ratings cannot continue to use the same hotel name. Otherwise, the star rating agencies of tourist hotels shall not reply or withdraw the star marks and certificates.

After the hotel has obtained the star rating, the building specifications, facilities, equipment and service items have changed due to the transformation, and the original facilities, equipment, service functions or items have been suspended or cancelled, resulting in the failure to meet the original star rating standards, which must be reported to the original tourist hotel star rating agency for review or re-evaluation. Otherwise, the star rating agency of the original tourist hotel should take back the star certificate and logo of the hotel.

Some hotels with outstanding characteristics or highly personalized characteristics can apply for star rating directly to the national tourist hotel star rating agency if their own conditions are different from the provisions of this standard. The national tourist hotel star rating agencies should arrange assessment inspection within one month after receiving the application, give star recognition according to the inspection and evaluation results, and issue corresponding star certificates and signs.
