Heze used to be a natural ancient river, where Ji and Shui meet and come out together, connecting the two major water systems of Guji and Surabaya. It was renamed Longchi in the Tang Dynasty and Xiayue Lake in the Qing Dynasty. In the 13th year of Yongzheng in Qing Dynasty (1735), it was promoted to the government and became Guo Wei County. Because there is "Heshan" in the south and "Razer" in the north, it is named Heze. Heze has a long history and enjoys the reputation of "the best in the world". Nine schools in Gong Yu, Heze, Leize, Onoze and Meng Zhuze, are all in China. Fuxi, the ancestor of mankind, Shao Hao, the emperor of Dongyi, Shun Di, the military strategist Chiyou, the reformer Wuqi, the agronomist Sun Bin, and the economist Wen Zisheng. They were all born here. Liu Bang ascended the throne and proclaimed himself, Cao Cao proclaimed himself, Huang Chao Uprising and Song Jiang Juyi all took place in Heze.
