Earlier, Luobu people did not eat beef and mutton, or even food, but only fish. In the Qing Dynasty, Vae said in Waterway to the Western Regions: Rob people don't eat grain, don't graze livestock, but fish in boats for food. ? Sometimes they chew white reed rhizome, drink corn flour mixed with Elaeagnus angustifolia paste, and occasionally catch some animals to eat. Later, due to the deterioration of the environment in Lop Nur area, the water of Tarim River gradually shortened, and the lakes on which Lop Nur people lived dried up one after another. Migrate westward along the Peacock River to Ruoqiang County, Xinjiang. 1920, a plague occurred in Ruoqiang County, and a large number of people and animals died. Luobu people migrated in four branches and fled to Yuli, Ruoqiang, Luntai and Luopu counties, with a registered population of 10000. Whether these statements are accurate or not is inconclusive, which needs further research and textual research by historians.
Due to the change of living environment, some Luobu people have learned to graze and even grow crops. Perhaps, there will be fewer and fewer Rob people fishing for food.
