Before the 20th century, a small amount of tomatoes were planted in Hetao area for farmers' own use. Our city began to develop the tomato industry in the early 1990s, but it has not been done, mainly due to the lack of key enterprises. The earliest tomato processing enterprise was Taishun, Taiwan Province Province, and the first tomato processing enterprise was introduced at the end of 1994. Other enterprises, as branches of state-owned sugar factories and breweries, lacked market competitiveness and eventually did not form a scale. Lycium hetao
Hetao Lycium barbarum is a local specialty, which is characterized by large and full particles, rosy color, thin skin and thick meat, few seeds and sweet taste, and extremely rich nutrition. It is identified to be rich in various amino acids, vitamins, iron, phosphorus, calcium and other essential nutrients and minerals. Long-term administration has the effects of promoting endocrine, enhancing human immunity, reducing acidic metabolites in blood, nourishing liver and kidney, promoting sperm production and nourishing blood, improving eyesight and treating asthenia. Hetao people once said, "If you have money, you can kill pigs for the New Year." When it is freezing, every household in Hetao area will kill pigs, and they will eat stewed pork with sauerkraut. The most distinctive one is stewed sauerkraut in pig trough. In rural areas, killing pigs is a big deal and needs the help of neighbors. A large pot of delicious sauerkraut with canned meat is better than all delicious food. The method of this dish is also very particular. Cut fresh pork into large and thick slices, stir-fry in a pot until the meat looks Huang Shi, add onion and garlic salt, pepper, aniseed and soy sauce, add water and simmer slowly, add potato pieces when the meat is seven-cooked, cover with cut and washed sauerkraut, and add boiling water until the vegetables are flooded.
