Do you have any good suggestions for taking children to travel?

Traveling with children is a natural thing for me. I've been taking Qiqi out since the full moon. With my second child, I continued to travel with my two children. From the beginning of milk powder diapers to the ease now, I have accumulated a lot of experience in traveling with children. In my opinion, the methods of traveling with children can be divided into the following categories according to age:

0~2 years old children: "carry-on luggage"

For children at this stage, traveling is more like carrying "carry-on luggage" than taking children. Especially for children under one year old, their mobility is limited, and most of them rely on their parents to hold them and push them with trolleys. Therefore, taking children out at this stage, although there are many things to travel, most of them have no sense of autonomy and are more worry-free. Focus on the following:

1, children's safety is the first consideration, no matter when and where, children must not leave themselves. Can I say that when the child goes out for several months, I have to push the child to fasten his seat belt when I go to the toilet, and I have to open the door slightly to ensure that he is in my sight at any time?

Secondly, we should pay attention to ensure that children have enough rest. Because children need to take a long nap every day during the day, it is best not to be too full during the trip. If the trip is really rich, please be sure to bring a sleeping cart for your child so that he can sleep for a while when he is sleepy. The cart should be light, so you can put it down to sleep.

3. Children's diet is relatively simple. If there is a big difference in diet at the destination, you can bring an electric water cup to cook some eggs, noodles, rice porridge, cereal and so on for your child. Similarly, you can also bring a small thermos bucket. If you are a child who has not added complementary food for a long time, you can also bring some Heinz fruit puree and meat puree. One can at a time is convenient for eating and throwing.

Some mothers may find it troublesome to take such a small child out of the house. From my experience, the younger children take them out, the more suitable they are to travel. Kiki started to go out at the full moon, took the bullet train in four months, started to travel in go on road trip in the province in five months, flew to China in nine months, and went to Lijiang, Shangri-La and Beijing at the age of one. I am deeply impressed that the company organizes a trip every nine months. From Lijiang to Shangri-La, we took a bus, which was a long drive. Qiqi and I sat in a row, staring at the scenery outside. When I was sleepy, I fell asleep quietly with a pile of luggage, without crying or making trouble. On the way home, whenever one of my colleagues gets off the bus, he will shout "ahhh" and wave goodbye to everyone. When he was just two years old, he took him to Sichuan. He got up at four in the morning to climb Mount Emei. He also got up as soon as he was called, put on his clothes and set off. With this foundation, every trip has arrangements such as getting up early to watch the sunrise, and I never worry that they will stay in bed or lose their temper. While watching the sunrise in Pak Sha Qiu, Minai, Vietnam, my cousin, who is two years older than him, refused to get up and fell asleep in the hotel. Kiki and Shobo are both armed. Therefore, some valuable experience has also been gained.

Children aged 2-6: Little Explorers

Children over 2 years old have greatly enhanced their mobility, most of them will run and jump, and they are beginning to feel uneasy about taking a big car when they go out, hoping to explore a bigger world by themselves. Therefore, for traveling with children of this age, there are mainly the following points:

1. Let children of this age get in touch with nature. The focus of the trip is to take them to see the natural landscape, feel the changes of seasons, appreciate different natural scenery and appreciate different buildings. Go to the seaside, the grassland, the forest, the desert, and the environment that ordinary cities rarely contact; Go to see flowers, play with water, see fallen leaves, enjoy snow and experience more distinct seasons. In this way, only words that appear in books can become feelings in children's lives.

2. The children's feelings should be taken into account in the travel itinerary at this stage. In places where children may be interested, try to slow down and stop, and don't let children rush to see flowers in order to complete the whole trip. Therefore, I have always advocated that it is best to take children freely, because they can be adjusted according to their interests, and they will not make children unhappy and make adults nervous in order to catch up with the group.

3. Children of this age are curious and eager to participate. You can set up some interactive links that children can participate in, such as participating in some activities such as handcraft, animal feeding and horse riding.

4. You can try to give children different flavors of food. I think that one of the foundations for children to have a global vision is to have a "global stomach". Therefore, it is also a very important quality for children to be exposed to all kinds of food from an early age, so that no matter where they go in the future, they will not be uncomfortable and acclimatized.

5. Encourage children to walk more on the road and exercise their physical fitness and perseverance. Mountain climbing and hiking are both good activities.

Some people think that taking children out to travel is to broaden their horizons. It's true. However, before going to school, children are more of an input stage. Therefore, please let the children watch and experience more, and wait for the flowers to bloom.

Children of this age are generally in primary school or preparing for primary school, so they can input knowledge appropriately. Before leaving, parents can do some preparatory work with their children, such as:

What's the destination this time? Which country does it belong to? On the map, where is it?

What are the legends or stories about this destination?

What language do people speak in this place? Can you learn some simple spoken English? (such as "hello", "thank you", "goodbye" and so on. )

How do we get there? How long does the journey take? What scenic spots will we go to? etc ......

During the trip, you can add some plans to go to museums, art galleries or science and technology museums. Of course, according to the child's personality characteristics, just choose one or two and enjoy yourself. If you don't enjoy yourself, but invite your children to visit with great interest, this is undoubtedly difficult to achieve. Parents are always the best role models for their children. Please lead by example and influence children subtly!

When traveling, it is recommended to prepare a backpack and suitcase for your child. Children's clothes, toys and books are collected in boxes and their belongings are taken by themselves, which helps to cultivate children's independence.

With the growth of children's age, children can gradually participate in the process of making the itinerary. Let children learn to book air tickets, hotels, maps, plan suitable travel routes, and even manage travel expenses. I believe that this will be a gain for children's growth that books can't learn!
