Introduction of Shanghai Oriental Business Hotel

Shanghai Oriental Business Hotel is located in the center of the junction of the North and South Bund, facing Lujiazui, Pudong, and then connecting Yuyuan Garden and Shiliupu Wharf Tourist Area. This 23-story building, designed by ArtDeco in 1930s, is not only closely related to the century-old buildings in neighboring countries, but also participated in and witnessed the history of China's shipping development and port construction. The predecessor of this building is Qichang Foreign Firm established by American Russell in 1960s. Russell also built the head of Lifanyuan, which is the predecessor of Shiliupu Wharf now. At that time, Qichang foreign firm began to compete in Yangtze River shipping until 1870 was acquired by China Merchants. 1947, Chiang Kai-shek took a boat from Shanghai to Ningbo in order to return to his hometown in Fenghua. In order to give Chiang Kai-shek a rest place, China Merchants set up a small reception room here, which has since become a rest place for Kuomintang officials to take a boat. The present Oriental Business Building was built in 1985, and the past history has quietly become the memory of this land.

Shanghai Oriental Business Hotel has luxurious rooms and suites, with panoramic views of the river-view hotels in North Bund, South Bund, Pudong and Puxi, and deeply feels that the historical sites in Puxi are intertwined with the modern time and space in Pudong. The guest room design is interwoven with simple lines, showing a warm atmosphere with teak floor, and creating a "home" comfort through soft halo tones.

Guests can play any piano they want. Indoor space planning is elegant and quiet, and art and humanity are combined. Some high-rise walls are decorated with bouquets of solid wood, and the space in LeLounge on the second floor is leisurely decorated with pottery and antique objects. A large solid wood dining table (6. 1 m * 1.5 m) made of a whole piece of redwood immediately comes into view, retaining the original bark appearance and natural lines, making people feel the real texture.
