The origin of Xianxian County is as follows:
Jin Tiande was the king of Xianhe in the Han Dynasty, and the Xianling Mausoleum in Qianlong's "New Chronicles of Hejian Prefecture" was there, so it is special Name his state as a tribute. "King Xian is Liu De, the brother of Liu Che, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty. Xian County is named after him.
In the beginning of the Qin Dynasty, Lecheng County was established, and in the Zhou Dynasty it belonged to Jizhou. In the Western Han Dynasty, it was Lecheng County. From the Eastern Han Dynasty to the Eastern Jin Dynasty, it belonged to Lecheng County. Hejian County was the administrative seat of Hejian State. In the 18th year of Emperor Mokai (598), Lecheng was renamed Guangcheng. At the beginning of Renshou, because the word "Guang" was taboo with the name of the king Yang Guang, Guangcheng was renamed Leshou.
In the seventh year of Tianhui (1129), Emperor Taizong of the Jin Dynasty, Leshou was promoted to Shouzhou, and in the third year of Wanyan Tiande (1151), Shouzhou was changed to Xianzhou. This was the beginning of the name of the county and state following the posthumous title of Liu Decheng, King Xian of the Han Dynasty.
In the ninth year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1376), the prefecture was reduced to a county, and Leshou Prefecture was changed to Xian County, which belonged to the Hejian Prefecture of the capital. In the 26th year of the Republic of China (1937), Xian County belonged to the Sixth Administrative Supervision District of Hebei Province. From the founding of the People's Republic of China to 1958, Xianxian County belonged to the Cangxian Prefecture of Hebei Province. In June 1958, it was placed under the Tianjin Prefecture. In 1959, it was placed under the jurisdiction of Tianjin City. In 1961, it was changed to the Cangzhou Prefecture and later the Cangzhou District.
In July 1993, the Ming Dynasty stone bridge in Cangzhou City was located on the old Tuohe Road, 6 kilometers south of Xian County, Hebei Province, and 1 kilometers west of National Highway 106. It was designated as a provincial protection by Hebei Province in 1982. Cultural relics: As an ancient building from the Ming Dynasty, Shanqiao was approved by the State Council to be included in the sixth batch of national key cultural relics protection units on May 25, 2006.
