Introduction of Longhai Town

Longhai Township is located at the southern end of Longhai Mountain in the east of luliang county. In March 2006, it was formed by the merger of Shuangqingkou Township and Daxin Village, Walnut Village and Xiaozhai Village Committee of Walnut Village. The township government is located in Shuangqingkou village, 3 1 km away from the county seat. The total land area of the township is 175.5 square kilometers, which governs 10 village committees and 69 natural villages. At the end of 2005, the total population was 244 1 1. The average elevation of the township is 2200 meters, with a cool climate, drought and water shortage. It is a typical agricultural town in alpine mountain area.
