Sihanouk in exile: China is willing to take him in. How did he repay our country after the restoration?
Looking at the worried man in front of him, the Prime Minister said firmly, "You are still the only head of your country, and we will never recognize others."
So who is this deposed head of state? Why did he choose to come to our country for help when the country was in danger? What assistance did our country provide him?
The head of state to be introduced to you today is the legendary Cambodian king-norodom sihanouk.
In the 1940s, the old king of Cambodia died suddenly. In his life, the old king left no oral or written will to whom he left the throne. Therefore, the heir to the throne has become the target of the royal children. In this case, a very bitter struggle broke out within the Cambodian royal family.
Because Cambodia's national strength was very weak at that time, Cambodia was already a colony of France, and the French people occupied a great voice in major national events. After discussion with French leaders, the Cambodian royal family invited the grandson of the old king who was studying in Saigon to return to Phnom Penh to inherit the throne. He is Sihanouk.
Why did Sihanouk choose to succeed? This is because Sihanouk not only inherited the lineages of two royal families at the same time, but also was young and easily manipulated by the colonial government.
Sihanouk was only 19 years old when he came to power, and he was bent on doing something for Cambodia. His greatest wish is to liberate Cambodia from the French colonial rule at that time and make Cambodia truly an independent country.
At that time, the society was in World War II, countries were at war, and France was quickly defeated by the Germans. At this time, France has not much energy to take care of Cambodia as a colony. This is a great opportunity for Sihanouk to lead the Cambodian people towards independence.
But it didn't last long. Japan has coveted Cambodia for a long time. 1945 In March, the Japanese army occupied the whole territory of French Indian zhina in the Ming Dynasty by force, and the French colonial government disintegrated.
Although Japan ended French colonial rule in Cambodia, Sihanouk did not yield to Japan, but stubbornly resisted until 1945 when Japan announced its unconditional surrender. At this point, Sihanouk can finally declare Cambodia's declaration of independence, but the fate of being colonized has not stopped there.
After driving out Japan, Cambodia still faces the last threat-Vietnam. Out of fear of Vietnamese invasion, Sihanouk was forced to recognize the return of France again, and Cambodia became a French colony again.
After that, Sihanouk began a series of diplomatic visits to western countries and called for Cambodia's independence through international public opinion. With his efforts, Cambodia gained its independent status within the French Federation in 1949.
But at this time, Cambodia's police power and military power are still in the hands of France. Sihanouk was not satisfied with this situation. In order to arouse the enthusiasm of domestic anti-aggression, Sihanouk made great efforts. Finally, on1October 9th, 1953, 165438, Cambodia gained complete independence.
1970 In March, during Sihanouk's visit abroad, a historic tragedy occurred in Cambodia. Lang Nuo, then Cambodian Prime Minister, staged a military coup with the support of the United States. It is intended to overthrow Sihanouk's rule and establish a reactionary regime of pro-American treason.
Sihanouk was not at home at that time, and Lang Nuo did not take preventive measures against the coup. In addition, with the support of the United States behind Lang Nuo, Sihanouk has run out of skills and started his exile.
After the coup, Sihanouk, who was visiting Moscow, turned to the Soviet Union for help, and the Soviet Union threw a man when he was down. The Soviet Union indicated that it could provide Sihanouk with the most comprehensive assistance such as weapons.
However, this kind of assistance is not free, but I hope Sihanouk can become their puppet, and Cambodia can obey their orders from now on. In view of this, Sihanouk did not compromise. But by this time, he was at the end of his rope. At this moment, he thought of his two closest friends.
Sihanouk's close friends when he was cornered were our president and prime minister. 1970 On March 18, Sihanouk set off from Moscow and began to fly to Beijing. So why did Sihanouk think that the President and Prime Minister would definitely help him?
It turned out that Sihanouk, then 33, also attended the Bandung Conference in 1955. Although Cambodia had not yet established diplomatic relations with China, the Prime Minister affirmed Cambodia's independence movement and Sihanouk's leadership in his speech.
Since then, Sihanouk has started close contacts with China, and with the efforts of both sides, China and Cambodia formally established diplomatic relations in July 1958+08. So when Sihanouk encountered such great difficulties, he regarded China as his last hope and only hope.
After Sihanouk arrived in China, the Prime Minister specially cleaned up the former French Embassy in China for Sihanouk and used it as Sihanouk's official residence in China. Four days after Sihanouk arrived in China, he announced the establishment of the Cambodian United Front, which put great pressure on Lang Nuo groups.
At the same time, China also expressed its firm stance against hegemony and aggression to the international community, and cancelled the137th Warsaw talks scheduled for May 20th.
Facing China's support, Sihanouk said that he would definitely compensate China when he returned to China in the future. At this time, the chairman said that he was not helping him for free, and all the assistance from China was free. Sihanouk thanked China for his sincerity.
With the continuous support of China, Sihanouk finally returned to his country in 1975. When he left China for five years, Sihanouk said with emotion, "Glorious and great China, I salute you. I sincerely love you and regard you as my second motherland. "
Sihanouk returned to the throne after returning to China. From then on, no matter what difficulties China faced, China in the world stood firmly on China's side. When China is faced with natural disasters, he always gives a helping hand at the first time.
In the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Sihanouk, who is old, still came to China to attend the opening ceremony and other activities.
After Sihanouk passed the throne to his son, he chose to support the elderly in China. He died in Beijing in 20 12 at the age of 90.
Our motherland has been reborn after a hundred years of humiliation and decades of struggle, and we clearly feel the pain of being invaded and oppressed. Therefore, while striving to become stronger, we are also trying our best to maintain world peace. Whenever there is hegemonism and aggression, we can always hear China's voice of maintaining peace. This is our strong motherland.
