What is a program-controlled switch?

Automatic switching is divided into two parts: control and call connection. The so-called program control is actually the abbreviation of stored program control, which means that the control of automatic switch is designed into a program according to certain logical requirements, and then the computer runs the program to control the work of the switch. It can be seen that the so-called program-controlled exchange is essentially an automatic exchange controlled by an electronic computer, and it is one of the methods to realize the control part of telephone exchange equipment. Another control mode of automatic exchange is distributed control, that is, the control components of the exchange are designed according to logical requirements, and the telephone exchange is realized after the components are connected and welded through wiring. In addition, some call connection methods of SPC exchanges use space division and some use time division, which will be introduced in our next question.
