Where is the ancient Tai Koo Shing?

Taikoo Shing is a large-scale residence located in Fish Chung in the east of Hong Kong Island. It was built by Swire Properties and later became a part of Hong Kong Island East.

Taikoo Shing was formerly Taikoo Shing Pier (1907 completed), and its monument is still displayed in front of Taikoo Shing Center. 1970s, after the relocation of Taikoo Wharf, a large area of the original site was redeveloped by Taikoo Real Estate in stages, and it was completely completed by the end of1980s. After that, Swire continued to carry out reclamation projects in the local area and built a "Haitian Garden" on it. After the completion of the second phase of Taikoo Shing Center, no new houses will be built in this area. After the third and fourth phases of Taikoo Shing Center settled in, Swire Group also converted the first phase of Taikoo Shing Center into a commercial building. At present, the development of this area has not been completed. A four-star hotel is under construction in the old site of the demolished "Good Luck Market" and Bajia Commercial Center in Taikoo Shing.
