What does RAP mean?

Rap is a word in black slang, equivalent to "talking", and the Chinese meaning is rap.

It is a special form of singing that speaks rhythmically. Originated in the poor black areas of New York.

It is characterized by the rapid telling of a series of rhymed verses against a background of mechanical rhythmic sounds. One source of this form is the rapid, rhyming jargon used by radio presenters in the past when introducing records.

The rhythm of rap or rap music, blues music style including vocals, etc. are cleverly integrated with the music. Accompaniment generally consists of electronic drum beats with samples (digitally isolated sound bites) combined from other music recordings.

Musical Origin:

Deriving from one of the earliest phrases used in rap, and may be found on the Tonight recording of "The Talker's" Joy" (1979) by the Sugarhill Gang.
