The difference between Dehua porcelain and Jingdezhen porcelain lies in different producing areas, different characteristics, different glaze colors and different firing methods.

1, different sources:

Dehua County, located in the middle of Fujian Province, together with Jingdezhen in Jiangxi and Liling in Hunan, is known as the three modern porcelain capitals of China, and is one of the birthplaces of China ceramic culture.

Jingdezhen is located in the transitional zone between Huangshan Mountain, Huaiyu Mountain and Poyang Lake Plain. It is a well-known porcelain capital at home and abroad, and it is also known as the four famous towns of China in Ming and Qing Dynasties with Foshan in Guangdong, Hankou in Hubei and Zhuxian Town in Henan.

2. Different characteristics

Jingdezhen porcelain: "White as jade, bright as a mirror, thin as paper and loud as a chime" is the characteristic of Jingdezhen. A large number of artistic porcelain and display porcelain are produced, with complete varieties and diverse decorative patterns, including blue and white, pastel, bucket color and exquisite blue and white. And the category is world-famous.

Dehua porcelain: Dehua is famous for its white porcelain. The white porcelain produced by Dehua is as white as jade, high-quality and beautiful, enjoying the reputation of "China White", "Ivory White" and "China Porcelain Superior", mainly producing daily-use porcelain.

3. Different glaze colors

Jingdezhen porcelain: Due to the high iron content in Jingdezhen clay, the finished product will not look particularly white after high temperature firing, and the white porcelain produced in reducing flame will be a little blue.

Dehua porcelain: Dehua porcelain is also made of kaolin, but the elements in the raw materials are different and the finished products are different. Traditional Dehua white porcelain is moist as jade, and its glaze is transparent and white, so Dehua is also famous for its classic white porcelain sculpture.

4. Different firing methods.

Jingdezhen porcelain: fired at high temperature, kiln temperature 1300℃, with low output by experience, but white and delicate after firing, easy to clean without discoloration, leaving no tea stains for how long.

Dehua porcelain: sintered at 800℃, with high output and large quantity, it is easy to change color after use, and it is mainly produced in large quantities by decal process.
