A trip to India (III) —— Humanities

many aspects of India are beyond my original expectation, one of which is the humanistic customs here.

Before leaving for India, the understanding of Indian figure only stayed in movies and video conferences of colleagues, and the general impression was that the skin was dark. The lady was very beautiful, wearing sari, earrings and nose rings, and wearing many bling bling bracelets on her wrist, but she really didn't see much about her figure. Unexpectedly, after I arrived in India, more than 9% of the girls I met were surprisingly fat, especially the women who became mothers, and most of them were obese, whether they were passers-by or colleagues, except, of course, flight attendants.

At the same time, to my surprise, many of them are vegetarians, and they eat very little, which is only half of mine. Ten days later, I came to a general conclusion that the food eaten in India is very sweet and salty, and I rarely walk (as mentioned before, I take a bus as soon as I go out), which may be the reasons for the relative obesity of Indian women. Of course, by analogy, Indian men should also be obese, but Indian men are relatively slim except for their stomachs, which may be the reason for their taller figure.

Before going out, I was told that women's status in India was very low and their lives were very depressed, so I always thought that girls were basically full-time cooks and rarely appeared in public places. These ten days have completely changed my cognition. In India, not only many women are working, but also girls go to bars. Unexpectedly, he didn't arrive at 8:3 pm and took me to the bar. The bar is on the rooftop, which is generally decorated, but the music is super loud, and most of the time it is Indian music. As soon as I got there, I didn't eat any food, so I immediately served wine. I haven't been to a bar for more than ten years, and I've been away from it since work. First, I'm not interested in wine. Second, I'm disgusted with such a noisy environment. Third, bar culture doesn't start until at least 1:3 in China, which is really not suitable for me who goes to bed early. As a result, I didn't expect to arrive at 8:3 pm and didn't eat dinner, so I skipped dinner and went to the bar. It is conceivable that this surprise jumped directly to surprise. But what is even more surprising is that as soon as the wine is served, cigarettes begin to join in the fun. More than 7% of people, both men and women, smoke. Most of my friends don't smoke, even men, but in Indian bars, most people smoke, even women. After ten days of drinking, everyone began to dance a little around their wine table. Watching them/them dance, I suddenly understand why Indian movies have long songs and dances, because Indians really like dancing, regardless of age, as long as the music plays, they will follow the music. Even if you don't jump at first, you will soon follow the music.

In India, if you regard punctuality as a virtue, you will either get angry or Indians will not take you to play. Of course, this refers to the lax business working environment. Indians like to wait until the last minute to do things, and I can't get the information of airport pick-up and delivery until the last two hours. Especially when I left for Hyderabad, I was tortured because I didn't know this feature of India, and I thought I could get the information of pick-up vehicles before I left. As a result, I arrived in Delhi and didn't receive the information of pick-up vehicles. I had to mobilize all my resources to recover the information of pick-up vehicles at the same time, and finally got it before I boarded the plane for Hyderabad. It's even more outrageous to see the plane off. I have to leave for the airport at two o'clock, and the information of the car to see the plane off won't be available until one o'clock. What's even more outrageous is that the car to see the plane off didn't pick me up until 2:3. On the way to the airport, I was worried all the way because of the bad traffic in India. For all kinds of private appointments, Indians tell you the time, and they/they usually arrive half an hour after that time. Therefore, when visiting India or having a private date, don't take time too seriously, and you will lose if you are serious. The best thing to do is to ask clearly, or arrive on time, but at the same time tell yourself that your Indian partner may arrive half an hour late to avoid unnecessary anxiety and impatience.

As English is the official language of India, the English level of any educated Indian is not bad. Moreover, many colleagues around me have the experience of studying abroad and working abroad, and their English level is even higher. There are 23 continents in India, which means that there are 23 official Indian languages in India except English, and they don't understand each other's official languages. Therefore, in India, we will see a magical phenomenon, that is, when Indians get together to chat, it is actually short in English. Occasionally, I will see chatting in Hindi, but it depends on whether both sides can speak Hindi, otherwise, if Indians from different continents are chatting in English. This language education has created great convenience for Indians, especially for them to communicate more smoothly in multinational companies. In addition, Indians are naturally extroverted and like to express themselves, which is much better than that of China working in multinational companies. Of course, Indian English is also a very famous branch of English. It is famous for its peculiar pronunciation, peculiar grammar, and strange way of speaking. Frankly speaking, it took half a year to know what Indian colleagues are saying, and it is only about 7%.

The prices here mainly focus on consumer goods and food, and the comparison is mainly in China's first tier cities. With h&; M, for example, the price is generally 2% lower than that of similar products in China, while the prices of other commodities, such as Boday Shop, Longchamp, Coach and MK, are also lower than those in China. For ordinary daily necessities, in shopping malls and markets, the prices are even more different. Indian Rupee, 6 yuan, is less than RMB in 6 yuan. You can buy 1 cups in a big market, but you can't even buy one in a shopping mall. Have lunch for three people, even eat it and take it back to their families. All meat without vegetables and beer and coke will only be RMB in 2 yuan, and it is a very famous restaurant in the local area. Visible to China's income level to Indian consumption, you can directly jump from well-off to rich.

However, the price of hotels is more expensive than that of China. The average hotel price is several hundred yuan better. Take lemon tree as an example, the average room type costs 5+ RMB. Although there is no chance to really visit the customers, it should not be much worse, but at the same time, don't expect too much. I have to talk about Starbucks, a place that can help me feel homesick. In China, a medium latte is RMB in 28 yuan, and in India, it takes 21 yuan to turn it back into RMB. On the other hand, China should have been drinking the most expensive Starbucks coffee in the world. Even in Japan, the price of a medium latte is only around that of 23 yuan, and it is cheaper than that of China. In addition, there is a house price. Locals generally live in the old city and own their own houses, but there are also high-rise buildings in the city. According to local people, it costs three or four million rupees for a house. Due to the limited language level, they have no chance to learn more about the size, but what is certain is that this price is out of reach for most Indians.
