Rafting on Shanmu River in Guizhou is a place worth visiting.

My friends have told me for a long time that rafting on the Shanmu River in Shibing County, Guizhou is very interesting and a place worth visiting. Unlike some scenic spots where you will regret it after going there, I finally made the trip this time. Ha ha.

The Shanmu River rafting project is located in Shibing County, Kaili City, the capital of southeastern Guizhou Province, about 100 kilometers away from Kaili. The starting point is about 14 kilometers away from Shibing County, and the ending point is about 10 kilometers away from Shibing County. 7 kilometers, actually means floating 7 kilometers from the upstream direction along the Shanmu River toward the county seat. The Shanmu River flows through the county seat. It used to be possible to float all the way to the county seat. However, the water flow in the 7-kilometer river near the county seat gradually slowed down and the rafting speed was too fast. It was slow, and later the river rafting about 7 kilometers later was cancelled.

My friends and I set off from Kaili at 7:30 in the morning. We hired a chartered taxi and arranged to deliver it to the gate of the scenic spot (whether you drive yourself or rent a car, you can only go to the gate of the scenic spot). It will take about an hour and a half to arrive. Shibing County. There are not many cars on the road, and the asphalt road surface is also very good. The vegetation on the mountains on both sides of the road is lush and green, which makes people feel relaxed and happy.

After arriving in the county, I found that any hostel or hotel, no matter how big or small, sells Shanmu River rafting tickets. After purchasing the ticket, I was told that if you don’t have a car to go to the scenic spot, you can rent a car in the county. The rental car will take you there. Go to the scenic spot gate, and then go to the drifting stop to wait for you to finish drifting and take you back to the county town. We had a chartered taxi to take us to the scenic spot, so we didn’t charter a car, so we didn’t confirm what kind of car it was and how many people it could seat. The taxi took us to the gate of the scenic spot, and then the car went back to Kaili. It wasn’t until after the rafting that I discovered that the price of the car packaged in Kaili was too high, and it didn’t include taking it back home, which was a waste of money. After getting off the car, I was still murmuring in my heart. I came from the county without a chartered car. I was thinking about what I would do if I came back without a car after the float. But after I finished the float, I realized that I was worried. There were many cars pulling tourists at the stop-float point, so there was no need at all. Worry, haha!

After checking the ticket, I asked after entering the attraction gate, and found out that it is still one kilometer away from the starting point. It takes 10 minutes to get there by electric car and 40-60 minutes to walk. It is recommended to walk and enjoy the scenery along the way. It has beautiful scenery and you can choose your own way of arrival. The cost of taking a battery car is 15 yuan per person. Check the ticket again after arriving at the starting point. Because the ticket is a postcard with postage, you can fill in the content after tearing off the coupon here. Go into the nearby mailbox and send it to your friend.

We arrived at around 10:30. When we asked here, we learned that more than 600 people had drifted down in front of us, and today is not the weekend yet. It seems that the popularity of this attraction is quite strong. It is said that the most popular At the peak, 8,000 people floated down in one day. Darling, that didn’t fill up the river.

After entering, seal your valuables and carry them in a small bag. Do not put them directly in the rafting boat, because your whole body will be wetted by water during the rafting process, and once the boat capsizes, the items will be wetted by water. Wash away, and then there will be a wonderful scene where things are floating in front and you are chasing after them, yelling and screaming. Moreover, the pebbles at the bottom of the river are very obstructive. Of course, this also includes paying attention to your slippers, don't let them be disobedient and make you perform a show of chasing shoes in the river.

The sun is not too strong today, but the temperature is not low, but the temperature of the water in the river is a bit cool and refreshing. I rented a waterproof bag and put it in my travel bag. I sealed my cell phone, wallet, camera, etc. in the sealed bag I brought and put them in a small backpack and carried them on my back. Then I put on my life jacket. When I got to the river, the staff piled them up like a hill. Pull one out of the rafting boat pile and put it into the river (it is said that when there are many people, tourists will grab the boat by themselves. Whoever grabs it first will float first, haha, this depends on physical strength.), and let the tourists divide it. As soon as the two of you sit down in the boat, you start to experience the formal rafting experience. Of course, you must first pick a suitable pole from the large pile of wooden poles at the starting point and bring it with you, otherwise you will not be able to control the direction. .

With excitement, our rafting began. The river is not deep. Where the water is strong, it is generally shallow, basically up to the knees. In some backwater areas, it is one to two meters deep. But in deep places, the water flow is very stable. As long as you don't jump in, there is no danger. The river water The bottom is crystal clear, and small fish swim in the water from time to time. It is said that the river water is rich in various minerals needed by the human body and can be drunk as mineral water.

Our boat floated slowly down the winding river. There were towering mountains on both sides of the river. The vegetation on the mountains was very good, and it smelled like a forest. We used the poles we brought to adjust the direction. After just a few hundred meters of floating, we discovered that staff from several attractions were standing in the river and flipping over the boats of tourists in front of us, causing a lot of exclamations. Looking at the tourists soaked in water, it was so funny that we hurriedly waited for us to float there. They shouted loudly that we had cameras and cell phones on us, and kept begging for mercy. The staff then let us go. It was so dangerous!

Every time you float, there will be a rapids on the river. At this time, you have to concentrate on tightening the handle and let the boat bump through the rapids. The upturned water will fill the boat instantly. The boat is very exciting to your nerves. But don’t worry, the boat will not sink. You only need to wait until the water flow slows down, get off the boat, turn the boat over, and pour out the water before it floats again. In addition, there is an attraction staff member waiting for rescue at each section of the rapids.

A large row of barbecue stalls appeared on the river beach halfway through the float (we were lucky to have brought our wallets at this time). The stall owners will come up to stop you to solicit business and tell you that this is the only place that sells barbecue. Once you get to this village, you won’t find this shop anymore. In fact, there are two more shops next to it on your way down. Because we really wanted to take a rest after drifting here, we got off the boat and went to the last one. The stall owner was very polite and he was a local citizen. He walked dozens of miles of mountain roads every day carrying things to sell to come here to do business. There are not many varieties of things sold, including grilled fish, grilled smoked meat (made by the farmers themselves, which tastes good), bamboo tube rice, potatoes, ham sausages, etc. The prices are a bit high, so it is recommended to bargain before buying, otherwise you will have to settle the bill. It hurts sometimes, haha! The other thing is don’t litter. This is a matter of principle and I hope everyone takes it seriously! ! !

When the water flow is slow, you can sit on the edge of the boat and admire the beautiful scenery on both sides of the river, while looking down at the wild flowers along the river. But when crossing the rapids, you must remember to keep the direction and don't let the boat pass sideways. Otherwise, if it gets stuck on the rocks, it may capsize under the impact of the rapids, but it is very happy.

After nearly two hours of rafting, hand the boat and life jacket to the staff at the drift stop. You can then go to the shore to collect your waterproof bag with your key, take out your belongings, and there is Visitors can change clothes for free in the bathhouse. There is a market outside the bathhouse where you can buy clothes and snacks. At a stall, you can see the photos the stall owner took for you during the rafting process. If you like them, it’s 15 yuan each, so don’t force it.

When I picked up the waterproof bag, there was ginger syrup on a small table next to it. It was in a very soft and small plastic disposable cup. The staff warmly greeted you to drink it, thinking it was free, and I thought about this attraction. The service is very attentive and meticulous. In order to prevent everyone from catching cold, they even give you ginger syrup when you receive the food. When you take a sip of the water, which doesn't taste very good, a person comes next to collect the money. It's one yuan per cup. It's not much water, just one sip, and it's not much money. , it’s only one yuan, but it feels like you’ve been tricked. After paying, I thought about it, how can there be free "ginger syrup" in the world, hahaha!

After changing clothes, I went to the parking lot and asked about it. I hired a taxi from Shibing County to Kaili for 150 yuan. I realized that I had spent a lot of money in vain in the morning, but I am here to tell you that after reading it, It won’t be a waste of money, and it’s worth it. Someone has to step on the landmine!

This is my first time writing about my travel experience. I don’t know if it counts as a guide. It’s just for your reference. Please forgive me for any shortcomings!
