Where is the Red Pavilion?

Hong Kong Hung Hom Gymnasium | Gymnasium, located at No.9, Wangjiayun Road, Kowloon, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, opened on April 27th. 1983. It is an excellent indoor multi-purpose venue in Hong Kong and is currently managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.

The Red Pavilion can only accommodate12,500 people, which is actually much smaller than a large stadium with 70,000 or 80,000 people in the mainland. It used to be the place where hundreds of stars chose to hold concerts, and it was their honor to hold concerts here.

As early as the1960s, the then Urban Council had planned to build an indoor gymnasium in Hong Kong that met international standards. At that time, it chose to find construction land on Hong Kong Island. Later, due to the lack of a suitable venue on Hong Kong Island, the Urban Council decided to build the Hong Kong Gymnasium on the reclaimed land in Hung Hom Bay, Kowloon, at the side of the Hung Hom Station under construction at that time, and started the foundation works on March 1973.

However, due to the project expenditure, the project was not officially started until 1977, and was completed in August of 198 1. 1983 The opening ceremony was presided over by Sir Edward Youde, then Governor of Hong Kong, and was broadcast live on TV.
