How to arrange Buddhist temples and how to support Buddha statues (reproduced)
There is no need to set the Buddhist temple too big, and there should not be too many Buddha statues. The most important thing is to arrange it reasonably and solemnly. If a lot of Buddha statues are piled up on a Buddha table casually, it is not as good as law. When we set up a Buddhist altar, we must have the body, language and meaning of a saint. These objects, though not real buddhas, can make us generate merits by watching, appreciating and offering. When choosing Buddha statues, we should choose the shapes of making or painting according to the traditional scale, and choose those that make us feel happy, which is very beneficial to our daily viewing in the future. Be careful what you say and do when buying Buddha statues. For example, we shouldn't say, "This Buddha is so ugly!" "In that case, we should say," The craftsmanship of this statue is not high! "In order to avoid inadvertently accumulating bad jobs. At the same time, when buying a Buddha statue, if the price is inconsistent, you should look elsewhere at most, instead of saying, "How is this Buddha statue worth so much money? "A word. These seemingly trivial things actually reflect whether we really regard the Buddha statue as the representative of the Buddha. In today's commercial society, many statues on the market are not as good as the law. When choosing them, we should pay close attention to whether their body proportions conform to the law. After buying the Buddha statue, please ask the monks in the temple to fill the earth for you. Some people think that it is a Tibetan tradition to dress the Buddha statue dirty, but it is not. There are clear instructions in Buddhist scriptures on the material, method and necessity of dressing dirty clothes (note: please refer to Buddhist scriptures for measurements, etc. In addition, some people think that the opening of the light refers to the "blessing" of the Buddha statue by the monk Dade, which is ridiculous. Even the monk Dade prays for the blessings of the Buddhas every day. Only the Buddha will bless us. How can we "bless" the Buddha in turn? The so-called "opening the light" is actually a ceremony to seize the residence, that is, according to tradition, inviting the saints to come and live like a statue. After the opening ceremony, we must treat the Buddha statue as a true Buddha, and don't look at the Buddha statue with the eyes of secular value measurement, such as buying a golden Buddha statue and throwing away the clay Buddha. We also don't touch the image directly with our fingers. We shouldn't move the Buddha statue unless it is necessary. If necessary, the Buddha statue should be held by a clean cloth instead of touching it directly with your hands. When cleaning the Buddha statue, gently wipe it with Buddha dust. Some people like to put the Buddha in a glass box, which is also an excellent way to prevent the Buddha from getting dirty. However, some people worry that the Buddha statue will not be able to breathe or "suck away" the incense we offer, and then cut a "breathing hole" in the glass. This is a very boring practice. The Buddha statue represents a Buddha with perfect power. How can you suffocate or be "sucked" by a layer of glass? This can only reflect our doubts about the Buddha's perfect ability. In fact, neither the Buddha nor the statue needs the support of ordinary people at all. We issue certificates to integrate into the Buddha's own experience, not to meet the needs of the Buddha or the Buddha statue. Support-supporting the three treasures of the Buddhas can enable us to gain rich merits and accumulate the wealth of the Buddhas. Offerings can be divided into physical offerings and non-physical offerings, and can also be divided into four categories: external, internal, secret and empty offerings. The so-called "support" does not just refer to the objects placed on the altar. In daily life, we Buddhists have to bear witness in our hearts before every meal. Practitioners who practice pure land should try their best to create good causes in their daily lives, so they should repent and repay before eating any food. There are many kinds of offerings in the Buddhist altar, and all good things can be provided. The most common offerings are flowers, incense, lamps, water and fruits. Flowers can be used for flowers, potted plants, dried flowers or artificial flowers. The reason for sending flowers is to get a beautiful figure and face in the future, but if good karma is rewarded, it is also the seed of karma for passing away to the pure land and becoming a Buddha. The purpose of offering incense is to support the nose root or sense of smell of saints with incense, so we should use real incense instead of fake electric incense popular in the market. Because incense is for incense, not for cigarettes, it is not necessary to provide too many incense sticks, but it is advisable to use natural spices without chemical raw materials to make incense sticks. Of course, saints such as Buddha will not be affected by toxic chemical spices, but we have to inhale them every day. The sources of harmful substances are not good, so we must choose non-chemical, non-toxic and harmless spices. When burning incense, hold a candle, make a wish respectfully in front of the altar, and then put the candle in the incense burner. Lights were built for the eyes of saints. As long as the light is smooth, bright and golden yellow, even the power lamp can be used, and it is not necessary to use the traditional oil lamp. If the oil lamp is supplied, it should be noted that the flame should be smokeless, bright, non-flashing and golden yellow. Flash, smoke and blue flame are not good lamps, so other high-quality lamp oils should be used instead. Offering lanterns can help us accumulate longevity and wisdom. Water is a good sacrifice. The best quality water has eight characteristics, one of which has its meaning: cool-meaning, abstinence and purity; Gan-means you can enjoy all kinds of delicious food; Light means physical and mental health; Soft-expressive and compliant; Qing-meaning righteousness; Tasteless-meaning no obstacles; Benefiting the throat-a punch line; And nourishing the stomach means that the body is disease-free. Some of the above are common offerings, but other good things can also be used as offerings The number and types of offerings are not limited, but they are very concerned about cleanliness. The so-called "purity" of support means not only uncleanness, but also cleanliness of the source and mentality of support, which is the key to support. For a layman, if the money for offering or buying offerings comes from heinous things such as killing, stealing and lying, it is an offering with impure sources, so it is not a sacrifice as stipulated by law. If you want to kill something in exchange for offering, you might as well not offer it, or just offer a glass of water, which can be obtained anywhere for free. Some people donate money or donations to let others know that they have money, or to make people say, "You are really a great Buddhist and philanthropist!" " "Wait a minute. With this kind of heart as a confession, even if you support a lot of money, the income is extremely limited. Those who pursue fame and fortune are more likely to be greedy because of others' praise after testifying, which is worse than not testifying. In addition, support was originally based on the heart, not much, but it is not good for those who have the ability to provide only a little, for the sake of being stingy. The purity of the heart is that when testifying, there is no such mentality as meanness, regret, reluctance and not seeking fame and fortune. The correct heart of providing for others is the heart of benefiting all beings, that is, bodhicitta. We made a confession to become a Buddha, so as to accumulate reasons for becoming a Buddha. Those who go to the pure land with their heart set out to practice in the pure land in order to become Buddhists and benefit all beings. When giving evidence, we must use this motive to prove it. Just as the law stipulates, a walker with upper motivation testifies in order to accumulate and leave. Be happy when you testify. Doing this good deed is for all beings, for becoming a Buddha, and for going to the pure land. Because the number of all beings is infinite, the interests of all beings are also infinite. With this kind of heart, even a half-length fragrance can accumulate immeasurable merits. I'm not asking you not to make too much contribution here, but I want to emphasize that generosity is very important. Tell an event when the Buddha was alive to illustrate the power of the heart. When our teacher Sakyamuni was alive, there was a beggar woman in sraffa. When she saw the king of slava and his subjects offering sacrifices to the Buddha, she was born with a desire to support him, but she was short of money. So the beggar begged, and when she got a dollar, she went to buy oil. The oil merchant accepted the money, but it was not enough to buy enough oil for the smallest lamp, so he gave some oil himself, so that the beggar old woman could have enough oil for Eden. The beggar woman offered a small lamp in front of the Buddha and made a sincere wish: "May I gain great wisdom in the future and reduce the ignorance of all sentient beings!" The next morning, Mu Yulian, the great disciple of the Buddha, passed by and saw that the huge oil lamp provided by others had already been used up, but this small oil lamp was as bright as new. Mu Jianlian thought: "It's almost dawn, what's the point of offering lanterns!" Fan the lamp with your hand, but you can't put it out. Muhuan fanned a lamp with his robe, but still failed to put it out. At this time, the Buddha opened his eyes and said to the people in unknown so, "This lamp was provided by a broad-minded person. Even if you fill it with water from four oceans and blow it with strong wind, it is impossible to put it out! This lantern bearer has made such a big heart that he will become a Buddha in the future! " (Note: This historical event can be found in "Different people have different opinions". It can be understood that if bodhicitta is used as a sacrifice, even if only a small lamp is used, its power is unimaginable, and all the ten buddhas will come to confess. Of course, if you have the ability, have a big heart and make great contributions, the benefits will be even more unimaginable. Just mentioned that water is a good sacrifice. In addition to the eight auspicious characteristics of high-quality water, its advantage lies in its availability everywhere. Why do you say that? We basically don't have to steal, rob or spend any money to get water, so the source of this sacrifice is almost certain to be 100% pure. At the same time, because it is not valuable, it is not easy to have bad mentality such as regret, reluctance and meanness when offering, so the purity of offering heart is guaranteed. Because water is such a wonderful supply, let's talk about the key to water supply. According to our personal affordability, we can use gold, silver, copper, brass, ceramics or glassware for water supply. Glass and porcelain cups will not rust and change color, which will be a good choice. Monks or people who don't have much wealth can just buy cheap ones. But it is not good for rich people to buy inferior cups because they are stingy. We use these cups only for the Buddha, not for ourselves. After washing and grooming in the morning, we hold a cup in our hand, first pour some water into the cup, and then arrange it neatly on the Buddhist temple. Generally speaking, the habit of Buddhism is to use a set of seven cups of water, but everyone can use one or two cups ... drink as many cups as they want, and there is no need to stick to seven cups. When you put down the cup, you must be respectful and silent. There must be a little water in the cup. Don't hold grudges because the empty cup is placed on the altar. If there is more than one cup, the cups should be separated by one meter, and all the cups should be arranged in a straight line. After the arrangement is neat, we use a pot and add enough water to the cup with a little water. After filling, the water should be about one meter away from the mouth of the cup, and it should not be full or overflow, nor too little. If we also want to provide flowers, lights, food and incense, we can provide them at this time. When offering incense, we just need to hold the burnt incense, respectfully light it in front of the Buddhist altar, and then insert the incense in the incense burner on the ground or elsewhere. Then we bow respectfully three times, recite the conversion text three times, and have time to do an early class, so that we can complete the practice of supporting. At this time, we can go to work or do other things. At other times of the day, when you are seated, you have to support yourself because you have already given it in the morning. You don't have to make another support before you sit down, but it's certainly good to do so. The supported methods have been explained above. Supporting can not only accumulate virtue, but also attract the rich, and it is also a stingy way to govern the country. Don't underestimate the support and so on. After practice, it's all six degrees of great practice. Taking water supply as an example, the behavior of support is charity; According to adequate teaching methods and rules, it is a precept to give respectfully on the ground; It is patient to repeat confession every day; It is diligence to work hard with joy; Concentrate on the ground without distraction is meditation; Generally speaking, there is no self-identity among participants, providers and supportive behaviors.
