What do you think of Wei Qiujie's farewell letter, which reads "I can no longer work hard after living for 27 years"?
"Wei Qiujie, female, is a Chinese teacher at a primary school in Shaowu City, Fujian Province. According to her father, on July 18, 2017, her daughter went to Hokkaido, Japan alone to start traveling, but in July 2017 After departing from Sapporo OCHO Hotel on March 22, she never returned and lost contact with her family."
This is the result of searching for "Wei Qiujie" on Baidu. On the morning of August 27, local fishermen discovered the body of a young woman on the Katsurai Coast in Kushiro City, Hokkaido, Japan. Judging from her attire, she looks like Wei Qiujie, a Chinese female teacher who lost contact on July 23. On the 28th, the Japanese police announced that after a judicial autopsy, it was found that the cause of death of the body was drowning.
Despite this, Wei Qiujie’s current life and death are unknown, and there is no direct evidence to prove that the female body found on the coast is Wei Qiujie herself.
Japanese media reported that Wei Qiujie’s father flew to Hokkaido on the evening of July 28. Accompanied by the local police, he went to the hotel where Wei Qiujie had stayed in Sapporo Chuo District and found a letter A "farewell letter" she left to her family. After seeing the handwriting of the "letter", Wei Qiujie's father said that it should have been written by his daughter.
According to reports, the suicide note left by Wei Qiujie in the hotel where she stayed in Hokkaido wrote: "I'm sorry, this is a farewell letter. After living for 27 years, I can no longer work hard. If I I’m gone, please don’t be sad. I will be a star to protect you. I love you all from the bottom of my heart.” However, some careful netizens found that it is difficult to let people know just by revealing a few words. I believe this suicide note is not a forgery. The netizen also pointed out two doubts in the farewell letter:
First, she said in the farewell letter, "I want to become a star and pray and bless everyone." It is not a Chinese habit to use "turning into a star" as a metaphor for leaving the world. This usage is mostly used by Koreans, but is also commonly used by Japanese.
Secondly, she wrote the word "yuan" in her handwriting, and the word "yuan" was written in traditional Chinese "yuan". As a young generation in China, it is impossible to use traditional Chinese in daily writing.
A netizen saw Wei Qiujie’s farewell letter on Zhihu and gave his own opinion. At the age of 22, he had written many suicide notes to himself. Every time when he feels that life is hopeless, people start to become negative and try to find relief through words.
But every time after writing a suicide note, the original depression was relieved. From this point of view, Wei Qiujie's farewell letter cannot be ruled out as an expression of his displeasure. What's more, Wei Qiujie's brother also said that the farewell letter was just his sister's essay and not a so-called suicide note.
Life is meant to be joyful amid hardships, and it is normal to feel a little depressed from time to time. After Wei Qiujie's accident, I also browsed her Weibo and found that she, like most girls, loves to dress up and take selfies. Everywhere she goes, she leaves beautiful photos to share with everyone.
Such a girl actually has sunshine in her heart. Even Wei Qiujie’s friends said that she is not a melancholy girl. According to reports, Wei Qiujie had previously interned at Nanping Shaowu Experimental Primary School. After passing the exam, she will become a formal teacher when school starts in September.
Wei Qiujie is a young teacher who is about to join the job. It is really hard for me to believe that something so big could make this young woman give up her life so easily.
