The economy of Changyuan County is dominated by private economy, and now it has formed seven characteristic industries, namely, hoisting machinery, medical equipment, construction, anticorrosion, cooking, green food, seedlings and flowers, and four industrial clusters, namely, hoisting machinery, medical equipment, commercial light industry and Xincheng industry, are under construction, with good development prospects.

Lifting machinery industry. There are 99 complete machine manufacturing enterprises, including 6 enterprises with annual sales revenue exceeding 100 million yuan/kloc-0, and the annual sales revenue of Wei Hua Group reaches 2.56 billion yuan. National vocational skill appraisal institute 1 each, provincial technology research and development center 1 each. There are more than 800 supporting production enterprises with more than 40,000 employees, and the products have reached more than 200 models of 10 series, which are developing in the direction of large tonnage, intelligence and serialization. The sales of cranes below 50 tons account for 70% of the national market share. Medical device industry. There are 79 production enterprises, including 2 enterprises with annual sales income exceeding 100 million yuan, and the annual sales income of Piaoan Group reaches11million yuan. There are more than 30,000 employees, and the products reach more than 30 series and more than 600 varieties. They are developing in the direction of high value-added products such as polymer biological products and three kinds of medical products, with an annual sales output value of 3.5 billion yuan.

Anticorrosion industry. National first-class qualified enterprises 10 and second-class qualified enterprises 14. The construction scope covers more than 30 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in China, and has gone abroad and entered more than 80,000 countries and regions such as Saudi Arabia and Germany. In June 2005, the third international conference on corrosion control was held in our county.

Construction industry. There are more than 40 enterprises, including 2 first-class enterprises engaged in general contracting of housing construction, 4 first-class enterprises engaged in labor subcontracting, 4 second-class enterprises engaged in general contracting of housing construction, 3 second-class enterprises engaged in general contracting of water conservancy and hydropower, and 7 construction and installation enterprises engaged in highway, electric power installation and lifting equipment installation, with more than 70,000 employees. Xinpu Construction and Installation Engineering Company and other enterprises in this county, as the main construction units, have undertaken national key projects such as the National Grand Theatre and the "Bird's Nest" project, the main venue of the Olympic Games, and won the "Luban Award", the highest quality award of national construction projects.

Cooking industry. There are 23,000 professional chefs in the county, more than 200 of whom cook abroad. Cooking school, with the largest scale and the most advanced teaching facilities in Henan Province, has been built, which can train more than 3,000 professionals such as chefs and hotel management every year. In September, 2004, China (Changyuan) International Food Festival, the hometown of chefs, was successfully held in our county. The large-scale TV series "Dachangyuan" with the theme of Changyuan cooking culture is being broadcasted.

Green food and seedling and flower industry. The county's green agricultural production base has obtained the national certification area of 660,000 mu, including 20,000 mu of seedling and flower base and 0/0.3 million mu of red grapes. There are 68 leading agricultural enterprises, including national key leading enterprises 1 household (Changyuan Group) and 3 provincial leading enterprises (Piaoan, Jin Xin and Dafang). 52 kinds of products have been approved by the state to use green food signs. Yilong Agroforestry Ecological Park was named as "Henan Forestry High-tech Demonstration Park", and Li Hongwan's mu of Hongti Vineyard was named as "China Characteristic Hongti Grape Planting Base" by the Ministry of Agriculture. Lifting industrial park. Changyuan County Lifting Industrial Park is a characteristic industrial park approved by the Development and Reform Commission of Henan Province from June 2002 to October 2002. It is the only state-level private science and technology park in Henan. At present, the investment in infrastructure is 550 million yuan, the investment in fixed assets is 8 billion yuan, the built-up area is 10 square kilometers, the roads are 65 kilometers, four substations have been built, and various pipelines have been laid for 265 kilometers, which has achieved "nine connections and one leveling" in water supply, strong and weak natural gas and lighting greening, and has settled in 22/kloc-0 manufacturers and more than 900 merchants. Medical device industrial park. It is a municipal industrial park approved by Xinxiang City. Trade and light industry concentrated development zone. The planning covers an area of 4.5 square kilometers, including Jinbei Mountain Trade City, Pudong Furniture City, labor safety products market and light industry manufacturing area. The commercial area is 420,000 square meters, Jinbei Mountain Trade City, Pudong Furniture City and labor insurance products market have been completed and put into use, and the light industry manufacturing standardization factory is under construction. Now there are more than 1 100 merchants and 6 production enterprises.

New town industrial concentrated development zone. Completed 12 square kilometers, infrastructure investment1700 million yuan, 88.8 kilometers of roads.
