Thailand Travel Guide What are the things to do in Thailand?

Thailand is the favorite country of many Chinese people, where you can witness the most perfect tropical climate in Southeast Asia. Everything is so impressive and the typical tropical climate overdrafts your zest for life. So what is the most correct way to play in Thailand?

Thailand tourism is divided into three types: one is leisure tourism, starting from Bangkok, plus Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. One is to visit historical sites and water towns. This route is relatively less crowded, but I highly recommend it.

Including Bangkok, Ayutthaya, Meigong Railway Market, and Amphawa. Finally, there is the coastal island tour, including Phuket Island, Phi Phi Island, Egg Island, Emperor Island, Coral Island, etc. The three lines can be combined with each other, or one line can be played at a time. Each line can be played for 7 or 8 days.

1. Leisure travel: Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Pai

Bangkok: In addition to island tour routes that can fly directly to Phuket, other routes are recommended to depart from Bangkok. Because Bangkok itself can be visited for about 3 days, and there are many flights, so the air tickets are cheap. Of course, if you’ve been to Bangkok, that’s a different story.

The main attractions in Bangkok include the Grand Palace, Erawan Buddha, Temple of the Emerald Buddha, Temple of the Reclining Buddha, and Cheng Wang Temple. The Grand Palace is the royal palace of Thailand, where the founding monarchs of the Bangkok Dynasty, Rama I to Rama VIII, lived.

But since the former King of Thailand, Bhumibol Adulyadej, the King of Thailand has lived in the Giralda Palace to the east of the Grand Palace. The Grand Palace is open to tourists and has become a famous attraction.

Chiang Mai: Chiang Mai is my favorite city in Thailand. It has some monuments and famous temples, convenient dining and entertainment, low prices, and smooth communication with service staff. Because it is a famous tourist city, most people in Chiang Mai speak English very well, and many service industry employees can also speak simple Chinese. The famous Ningman Road can take a lot of artistic photos, and any massage parlor is very professional (by the way, don’t go to Pattaya for massage, the masseuses there are mainly responsible for flirting).

Here, I would like to correct a misunderstanding. Everyone should be like me and think that Thailand is a tipping country and it is rude not to tip. Not really. I suspect some Chinese people who go to a lot of places develop bad habits towards service staff. I never saw any tips when staying or eating in Thailand. When Thai Massage tipped the masseuse in Chiang Mai, he was visibly stunned for a moment before expressing his sincere gratitude. From his reaction, I got the feeling that most customers didn't tip. Of course, if you insist on giving it, they won’t refuse.

Chiang Rai: Most people book a one-day trip to Chiang Mai, mainly to see the White Temple, Black Temple and Blue Temple in Chiang Rai. These temples are all newly built, with a history of more than 20 years, and are quite suitable for taking pictures.

It needs to be reminded that the mountain road from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai has many twists and turns. For those who are prone to motion sickness, it is safer to take medicine in advance. To visit Chiang Rai carefully, it is more appropriate to arrange two days.

2. Tour of historical sites and water towns: Bangkok, Maeklong Market, Amphawa, Ayutthaya

Maikong Market: It is a famous railway market. Vegetable vendors usually set up stalls on the railway, and when they see the train coming, they pack everything up at lightning speed. Many people who have watched this video are willing to check in here. If they are not particularly curious, they can go directly to Amphawa.

Anwar: In Bangkok you can take a minivan to Amphawa and Mae Kung Market. First, you pass Meigong Market and then you reach Amphawa. The entire drive takes about an hour and a half.

Go to Amphawa and have a tight time schedule to return to Bangkok that day. If you don't pay attention, you will miss the last bus. In fact, Amphawa’s night view and early morning alms are both worth seeing. Highly recommend for a one night stay.

It is worth mentioning that the Amphawa mobile market does not open every day, just like major events in rural China. Amphawa is only open from Friday to Sunday every day, so everyone should arrange their time reasonably.

By the way, there is a special activity in Amphawa. You can take a boat ride to see fireflies, or you can make a reservation directly from the B&B.

Some people say that the fireflies in Amphawa are small lights specially hung by local people. After on-the-spot observation, this statement is really a villain’s idea. There are indeed active fireflies over there.

Just see more or less fireflies in different seasons.

Ayutthaya: Ayutthaya is a Chinese name, and Ayutthaya is a Thai name. Of course this is a transliteration, but as long as you pronounce it, the conductor will know where you are going.

From Bangkok to Ayutthaya, you can take a bus at Hua Nan Peng Railway Station, which takes one and a half hours. Ayutthaya, the ancient capital of Thailand, is equivalent to Xi'an in China. As the capital, it had a history of more than 400 years until it was captured by the Burmese army. The most famous Buddha-headed tree is at the Mahatai Temple in Ayutthaya.

3. Coastal island tours: Phuket Island, Phi Phi Island, Egg Island, Emperor Island, Coral Island, Meeru Island, etc.

Phuket Island and its surrounding islands: many domestic cities There are direct flights to Phuket, and visiting Phuket and its surrounding islands remains one of the main choices for domestic tourists.

There are many beaches on the main island of Phuket, but Patong, Karon and Kata are the three most visited beaches. In contrast, Patong Beach, which is closest to the airport, is crowded and lively, while Kata Beach is much cleaner.

Beach tourism does not have any more advantages than domestic seaside cities, and the surrounding islands will also have some characteristics.

Phi Phi Island and Dan Island are two islands that can be visited together for a day trip. Each day has its own way of playing, it all depends on what you like. One-day tours also include snorkeling at Phi Phi Island or Koh Dan.

Emperor Island is relatively independent in geographical location and has good environmental protection. The sea water is blue-green, a bit like the color of Wuzhizhou in Sanya. Some people choose to enjoy a few days of vacation here, but most of them are luxury hotels and accommodation is expensive.

Coral Island, as its name suggests, really has corals. It is more suitable for friends who like water sports, such as water skiing and surfing. If you snorkel here you can see beautiful coral reefs.
