What is a wireless access point?

Wireless access point is the access point of wireless network, commonly known as "hot spot".

Wireless AP is an access point for users who use wireless devices (mobile devices, such as mobile phones and laptops) to access wired networks. Mainly used in broadband homes, buildings, campuses, parks, warehouses, factories and other places that need wireless monitoring. Typical distance covers tens of meters to hundreds of meters, and can also be used for long-distance transmission. At present, it can reach as far as 30KM. The main technology is IEEE802. 1 1 series.

There are mainly routing switching access integration equipment and pure access point equipment. Integrated devices perform access and routing, while pure access devices are only responsible for the access of wireless clients. As an extension of wireless network, pure access equipment is usually connected with other AP or main AP to expand the wireless coverage, while integrated equipment is generally the core of wireless network.

Extended data:

AP (access point, wireless access node, session point or access bridge) is a broad name, which includes not only simple wireless access point (wireless AP), but also wireless routers (including wireless gateways and wireless bridges) and other devices.

Wireless AP supports wireless applications in 2.4GHz band, and its sensitivity meets the standard of 802.11n. It uses two RF output channels, and the maximum output power of each channel is 600 MW. It can deploy large-area wireless coverage through wireless distribution systems (point-to-point and point-to-multipoint bridging), and it is an essential wireless AP equipment for hotels to develop wireless networks.
