At the same time, the renovation of water supply facilities in 99 competition venues and reception hotels of the Asian Games was completed, and the main venues, important venues and newly-built venues realized double-loop water supply.

Supporting facilities such as fire hydrants around the Asian Games venues are also constantly improving. From May 20, 2009 to May 0, 2009, 697 municipal fire hydrants were built, 400 were newly built and 6,484 were maintained in Guangzhou.

From June to May, 5438, 25 waterworks involved in the Asian Games in Guangzhou (including Xinquanshui Waterworks and Nansha Waterworks under construction) were tested once a month for 29 indexes of source water sulfide and total nitrogen and 42 indexes of factory water, and 9 indexes of water quality in venues and hotel pipe networks of 144 Asian Games were tested once a month.
