Travel time

The difference between the four seasons in Kunming is not obvious. The average temperature throughout the year is around 20 degrees, which is more suitable for tourism. Tourists can choose their travel time according to their points of interest.

March to May: The climate is mild and there is basically no wind and sand. In early spring, you can see snow-capped mountains and flowers, including pink willows and colorful falling cherry blossoms on Yuantong Mountain. During this period, there are many fruits, flowers, and ethnic minority festivals in Kunming, and the scenery in Kunming is the most beautiful at this time.

June to November: The climate is cool. Generally, the summer temperature in Kunming does not exceed 30 degrees. It rains frequently, which will slightly affect the travel schedule. However, this period is also a good time to visit Kunming.

From December to February, winter begins and the temperature difference is relatively large. Flocks of red-billed gulls, escaping from the cold wind in the north, flew all the way from the distant Lake Baikal in Siberia and settled in the Panlong River, Green Lake, Dianchi Lake and other waters in Kunming. People came to watch these little elves one after another. The city has a peaceful scene. Hotel costs will also rise significantly during this period.
