Brief introduction of Jintai Temple

Jintai Temple is a demonstration site for religious activities in Guangdong Province. Its predecessor was Jintai Jingshe, located in Doumen District, Zhuhai City. Backed by Huangyang Mountain, which is 583 meters above sea level and is known as the first peak of the Pearl River gateway. It is one of the eight sights of antelope.

The history of Jintai Temple can be traced back to the end of Song Dynasty and the beginning of Yuan Dynasty. The present temple was rebuilt in 1992, overlooking the entrance of yamen in front and the main peak of boxwood in the back. Qinglong Mountain stretches on the left, White Tiger Mountain rides on the right, and the south is bordered by clear water, just like a fairyland on earth. It is a scenic spot with profound religious culture and beautiful leisure mood.

Historically, Jintai Temple has been expanded many times, covering an area of more than 3,000 square meters and having three halls. The middle seat is the Hall of the Great Hero, the east room is dedicated to the portraits of the three ministers of the Southern Song Dynasty, and the back seat is the Kuixing Pavilion on the second floor.

Every Buddha's birthday and custom festivals, tourists on the mountain are woven and pilgrims in the temple are woven. Over the past hundred years, the abbot has changed hands several times, among which Master Yin Zhi from Dongguan 1933 has been in the mountains for more than ten years. He is quite accomplished in Buddhism and literature, and often chats with Master Yifeng, the abbot of Xiangquan Temple in Ganwu. Since then, Jintai Temple has been burned by soldiers repeatedly, becoming increasingly scarce. The main building was demolished in the Great Leap Forward in three years, and then the wall was finally broken because of the construction of Jintai Reservoir.
