However, there is also a special city in Yunnan-Zhaotong City. Although there are not as good tourist resources as Kunming, Dali and Lijiang, it also has its own development advantages and is a city with special future development potential. Why Zhaotong is a special city?

In fact, this should also start from geographical location, historical origin, living customs and other aspects. Zhaotong has always been adjacent to Sichuan and Guizhou, so it is normal for Yunnan people to be influenced by Sichuan and Guizhou. Yunnan people's tastes are fresh and fragrant, sour and spicy, and they pay attention to the original flavor, such as the familiar rice noodles crossing the bridge. Zhaotong airport began to be used for both military and civilian purposes; 1983, Zhaotong airport is open to civil aviation; 1986, Zhaotong airport was suspended; 1994, Zhaotong airport resumed flight after expansion.

In April 2020, the airport official website showed that the building area of Zhaotong Airport Terminal was 1.906 square meters, and the platform area was 6,600 square meters, with two Class C seats. Asphalt runway 1 strip, 2600 meters long and 45 meters wide, can take off and land Boeing 737-700 and below. With the development of the city, the growth of urbanization rate and the increase of people flow and logistics, the existing airports can no longer meet the needs of people's travel and logistics. In addition, the existing airport is too close to the city center, so it is necessary to test and relocate the old airport. Recently, the terminal building and ancillary facilities of Zhaotong New Airport are expected to be completed within 2-3 years. The new airport or named Zhaotong Hualuping Airport is located in Hualuping Village, Buga Township, Zhaoyang District, Zhaotong City, with a construction area of 3,000 mu and a runway length of 3 kilometers.

③ Chongqing-Kunming high-speed railway running through the north and south passes Yanjin County, Yiliang County and Zhaoyang District of Zhaotong City, followed by Zhao Pan Railway, Zhaobi Railway, Liuweizhao Intercity Railway and Dongqiao Railway. Together with the existing neijiang-kunming railway capacity expansion and transformation (Zhaotong-Huize-Kunming), Zhaotong Railway Hub will be formed. After the completion of the Chongqing-Kunming high-speed railway, Zhaotong will become Chongqing in the north and enter the one-hour economic circle in central Yunnan in the south. Yibin-Xichang-Panzhihua railway planning passes through Shuifu City, Suijiang County and Leibo County in Zhaotong City, Sichuan Province, and Yongshan County and Leibo County are separated by a river. Building a bridge across the river in the future can also solve the dream of high-speed rail for Yongshan people to travel. Zhaotong's realization of county-level high-speed rail link is not a dream. The planned 12 expressway in Zhaotong will be completed and opened to traffic soon. ④ Zhaotong is rich in tourism resources. Zhaotong's famous scenic spots include Dashanbao Black-necked Crane National Nature Reserve and National Wetland Park in Zhaoyang District, with beautiful scenery. The reserves of lignite in Zhaotong Basin are 8.07 billion tons, which is the second largest lignite field in southern China.
