Taiyuan, Jinyang for short, was built in 479 BC. It has a history of more than 2500 years. As early as the Western Han Dynasty, Jinyang became one of the thirteen counties in China. In the Sui Dynasty, Jinyang was the third largest city in China after Chang 'an and Luoyang. The Tang Dynasty originated in Jinyang.
