The conditions for building the plant have obvious advantages: First, Caofeidian is one of the few places in my country that does not require the excavation of artificial waterways and harbors; A large deep-water port site that can dock 250,000-ton ships will help steel companies make full use of both domestic and foreign markets and resources for their raw materials and products; secondly, the Jidong region has proven iron ore reserves of 4.4 billion tons. It is one of the three major iron ore areas in the country. It is currently well protected and has not yet been developed. It can provide reliable iron ore guarantee for steel plants. Third, there are 150 square kilometers of tidal flats between Caofeidian Island and the mainland. The factory does not need to occupy it. arable land.

The preliminary work of the Caofeidian project has lasted more than ten years. Today's Caofeidian project has been hailed as "Hebei's No. 1 Project". As a rising star, Caofeidian Port will play a huge role in promoting the development of the regional economy in North China, especially providing strong support for the optimization and adjustment of the industrial structure in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. , becoming a commanding height in the "economic uplift zone" of the Bohai Rim Economic Circle.

There are buses from Caofeidian to Tangshan basically every hour from 6:00 to 16:00 every day, which takes about 2 hours. There are no taxis on the island. It takes about one hour to take a taxi from Tangshan to Caofeidian. It takes about 40-60 minutes by bus from Caofeidian to Tanghai. You basically can’t leave the island after 17:00 unless you have your own car. This is the most remote port in China. However, it is still under development, and it may become more and more convenient with the relocation of Shougang.
