How to eat durian in Thailand is not illegal.

When choosing durian in Thai fruit stalls, you can choose your favorite durian according to your own needs, or you can seek the help of your boss to choose durian with better taste. After buying it back, the boss will immediately cut the durian so that you can eat fresh pulp on the spot, but you can't take it away if you can't finish it.

Even if you spend money, you can't take the remaining durian away, you can only eat it on the spot. If you don't do this, you are not allowed to take any public transport, such as buses and taxis. Besides, as a foreign tourist, you will stay in a hotel in most cases. If you take the remaining durian, the hotel attendant will forbid you to enter, even if you have a room card.

Thailand stipulates that durian cannot be eaten in public places, including cars, and even hotels where tourists stay can't bring durian. You can only eat durian in stalls or public places where you buy durian.
