There is also a unique scene on the beach of Jinluan Bay, that is, fishermen always cast nets here every evening, which Dongshan people locally call "Lashan Net". An ancient town

Many people who go to Dongshan Island only know that Dongshan Island has beaches and seafood. In fact, there is also an ancient town with great charm on Dongshan Island-Tongshan Ancient Town. The ancient town of Tongshan, built on the mountain, is the earliest home of Dongshan people.

During the day, standing next to the scenic spot to see Tongshan ancient town, all kinds of scattered houses, if painted with white walls and blue roofs, will make people feel trance and come to the island along the Baltic Sea. It is suggested to go for a walk in Tongshan ancient town after dinner and go up the mountain from the path next to the parking lot in Fengdong Stone Scenic Area. Many houses passing by are open, including uncles who make tea and chat, grandmothers who weave fishing nets, young people who play harmonica, and children who play cards at the door.

It only takes about half an hour to walk slowly to the Wengong Temple at the top of the mountain, which is the best place in the whole ancient town. Standing on the mountain, you can see the fishing fire in Nanmenwan. It is said to be the unique "care" of Dongshan people. Only on moonless nights, fishermen paddle their own foam sampans, light steam lamps to attract small tubes, and then fish with nets.

Due to the use of wind power, there are many windmills standing on the mountain in Wujiaowan, Dongshan Island, with blue sea on one side, green meat mountain (mountain name) and tall and straight windmills on the other, which has become a special scenery.

Along the coast of Wujiaowan, there is an Aojiao Village, which is located in the protruding part of the southeast end of Dongshan Island. It is a "Tianya Haijiao" surrounded by the sea on three sides. It is also built on a beautiful mountain. Not far from the sea, there are four animal islands: dragon, tiger, lion and elephant, only two or three nautical miles from Aojiao Village.

The first thing to recommend is the oyster omelet fried in Tuanjie Road, Tongling Town, which was made at an inconspicuous roadside stall. The ingredients are oyster omelet and pork belly of Chinese cabbage, which tastes completely different from Xiamen oyster omelet.

In addition, there are two unknown seafood partners diagonally opposite the oyster omelet stall in Tuanjie Road, both of which are cheap fish and snails, and the average price of each dish will not exceed 15 yuan. It is said to be a restaurant that Dongshan locals have eaten for generations.

If you don't like the hygienic environment of food stalls, there is also a Dongsheng restaurant on the 24-meter road (street name) in Tongling Town. Dongshan's special small tube, glutinous rice sausage, pearl oyster fried meat, steamed old fish, abalone soup and fried fruit strips are all must-eat specialties.

If you are a guest in go on road trip, you can also recommend the Hongda Seafood Restaurant directly opposite the Dongshan Expressway exit. Seafood is super fresh and cheap, especially steamed yellow-winged fish, which is tender, smooth, sweet and delicious.

Housing and transportation strategy

1: You can take the expressway from Xiamen to Dongshan Island by car, which takes about 2 hours. Ordinary car expressway charges 65 yuan for each car; Take a long-distance bus from Xiamen Hubin South Coach Station to Dongshan Island, which takes 3 hours, and the fare is 60 yuan/person.

2. In Dongshan, you can choose to live in Tongling Town. The newly opened Serene Express Hotel, located next to the pneumatic stone, has a harbour view and the price is lovely. The room that usually looks at the sea is only 188 yuan. Weekends or holidays are a little more expensive. It's 8 minutes' walk from Fengdong Stone and Ancient Town.

Tongling town is very small, so you can basically take the bus or walk around the town. If you want to see the windmill, friends who drive by car can start from Tongling Town, along the coast of Wujiaowan, and arrive at Aojiaowan (the road conditions are poor now, and they are all dirt roads, so it is best to drive off-road vehicles). If you don't have a car, you can choose to take a bus from Tongling Town to Xipu Bus Station, and then take a minibus from Xipu to Aojiao.
