The origin of love island
Qiandao Lake is actually a part of the lower reaches of the St. Lawrence River. Because it flows into the sea with gentle terrain and wide and flat river surface, people call it a lake. Moreover, due to a large amount of sediment accumulation brought by the river from the upper reaches, more than 800 islands, large and small 1800, have been formed, hence the name Thousand Islands.
Both the United States and Canada nationalized some of the larger islands, while the smaller ones were sold to private individuals. Because some islands are owned by individuals, each island has a different "personality", which can be seen from their colorful architectural styles.
The cruise ship shuttled on the mirror-like lake, and the tourists were delighted to watch the beautiful scenery on the lake. The "international bridge" crossing the border between the two countries-two small islands less than 10 meters apart, one belonging to the United States and the other to Canada, belonging to the same island owner. He built a bridge between the two islands, known as the "International Bridge". The American flag and the Canadian flag were hung at both ends of the bridge-a group of European medieval castle-like buildings appeared in front of tourists, that is, the pearl on Thousand Island Lake.
Love Island has a sad love story-in 1950s, American hotel tycoon George Boss bought the island for $2.5 million, and he planned to build a castle-like villa on the island as a gift for his wife's 50th birthday. After he bought the island, he spent a whole year designing it and started construction the next year. It's a pity that this lady named Louise lives a poor life. She only lived 42 years before she died. After the death of his beloved wife, George Boss was in great pain. He left the hotel business to his son and moved to the island to live alone. A year later, due to grief, he also went to Taiwan.
After George Boss died, the island's legacy went to his only son. In order to commemorate the sincere love of his parents and realize his father's unfinished business, his son decided to sell the island to the country. His asking price is only one dollar, but there is one additional condition, that is, this castle-like villa was built on the island for tourists to watch according to the plan designed by his father before his death. As a result, the castle-like building symbolizing sincere love stands on Qiandao Lake, and this island is named "Love Island".
According to the tour guide, this castle-like building complex has 365 windows, which means that George Boss thinks about his beloved wife 365 days a year. Unique and touching.
