1, Bund and Lujiazui: It is no exaggeration to say that never having been to the Bund means never having been to Shanghai. /kloc-at the end of 0/9, at the beginning of last century, dozens of buildings along the Yangtze River witnessed the opening of Shanghai for nearly a hundred years. They have remained unchanged for nearly a hundred years, and even from an artistic point of view, their value is immeasurable. Perhaps the legendary big columns and exquisite murals and sculptures are not obvious to ordinary tourists, but that long row of buildings is actually seamless, overlooking the river is probably enough.

Opposite the Bund is Lujiazui. Almost all the buildings there are the products of Pudong's development and opening up, and now they have become the symbol of new Shanghai. There seems no need to climb the Oriental Pearl. Jinmao Tower is worth a closer look. Perhaps Lujiazui is the most upscale business center in Shanghai, with a large number of foreign-funded enterprises and Chinese and foreign financial institutions. It is a well-planned emerging business center. If you have money and time, you can also visit the newly-built aquarium, but personally, it is not worth recommending.

The best way to get from the Bund to Lujiazui is by ferry, which is cheap and can see the scenery on both sides. The wharf is located at Jinling Road at the southern end of the Bund. The disadvantage is that you may take a walk after you arrive in Pudong. The sightseeing tunnel is too expensive, but it can directly reach the foot of the Oriental Pearl.

2. Old Town God Temple: Foreign tour groups usually visit the Old Town God Temple when they come to Shanghai. In fact, it is only a large commercial city that visits ancient buildings, with the most tourist souvenir shops and gold shops.

Of course, the Old Town God Temple is not in name only. Yu Garden is, after all, a well-preserved ancient garden in the Ming and Qing Dynasties in the center of Shanghai, and the jade exquisite visible at the entrance is the remains of Huashigang. Once a shopping center for a long time, the Town God Temple has been restored to the old pattern and dedicated to the Town God. Jiuxu Bridge in Huxin Pavilion is the center of the Old Town God Temple, and it still maintains its old appearance decades ago.

South of the Old Town God Temple, adjacent to Shanghai Old Street, it is an antique commercial street that has been rebuilt and rebuilt, but the basic businesses have remained the same, from which we can see the appearance of the old city of Shanghai. To the north is the newly-built ancient city park, from which you can go directly to the newly-opened section of the Bund. For Shanghainese, the main attraction of this place comes from the small commodity center outside the shopping mall. The self-employed center has gathered all kinds of small commodities that can be ordered and approved. In addition, the specialty shops in the mall can also provide some goods that are difficult to find in other commercial streets.

3. People's Square: People's Square has long been the political center of Shanghai and the place for large-scale mass activities. But the last large-scale mass rally here seems to date back to June 13 years ago. It is also the geographical center of Shanghai, and the mileage of national roads starts from the center of People's Square.

A new round of renovation project is under way, and the result of the last round of renovation is to build People's Square into a civic cultural and leisure center. People's Avenue runs through the east and west, with the Shanghai Municipal Government Building in the north and the Fountain Square and Museum in the south. On both sides of the municipal government building are the Shanghai Grand Theatre and the planning exhibition hall, which is of little value to visit. On both sides of the museum are green spaces. Hong Kong Street under the square is an earlier fashionable commercial street in Shanghai.

4. Huaihai Road Commercial Street: The younger generation in Shanghai may be more willing to go to Huaihai Road to buy fashion. Even if you just stroll around on weekends, Huaihai Road has already replaced Nanjing East Road. Now Huaihai Road can be said to be a fashionable street in Shanghai.

Huaihai Road Commercial Street generally starts from Changshu Road, where there are beautiful department stores famous for selling sky-high fashion (the shopping malls on Nanjing West Road can match him). From Parkson and Paris Spring Shopping Mall on Shaanxi Road, you can go to Huating Isetan, which is earlier in the east, and then go to Pacific Department Store in the east, all of which are well-known middle and high-end shopping malls in Shanghai. The general destination is Tibet Road.

On the other hand, a large number of important modern buildings and key cultural relics protection units in Shanghai are scattered along Huaihai Road. More famous are the site of the first Congress of the Communist Youth League, the former residence of Sun Yat-sen, Jinjiang Hotel, Zhougongguan, Lanxin Grand Theatre, Xiangyang Road Orthodox Church, Mahler House (formerly Shanghai Communist Youth League Committee) and so on. The popular Xintiandi is also close to Huaihai Road. Besides, Shaanxi Road, Shimen Road and yandang road, which intersect Huaihai Road, are all important fashionable and leisure streets in Shanghai.

5. Xujiahui business circle: Xujiahui has become the fashion center of the younger generation like Huaihai Road. Today's Xujiahui has gradually changed with the completion of the Oriental Commercial Building, which provides unique high-end consumer goods and attracts a large number of people to visit. Subsequently, Pacific Department Store and Huijin Department Store were completed one after another, and the renovation of 106 stores in the city gradually gathered more and more popularity. Recently, Ganghui Plaza, a large shopping center, was completed. Kodak and Yongle, two multi-hall cinemas in Xujiahui, are the big box office in Shencheng and one of the few cinemas with digital equipment in China. In addition, Bainaohui and Pacific Computer City are the main places for Shanghai residents to configure computers, and Shanghai Jiaotong University is not far from Xujiahui in the north.

There are two other places worth noting. One is Xujiahui Catholic Church, which is the residence of China Catholic bishops in Shanghai. Together with Sheshan Catholic Church, it has become a representative of outstanding religious buildings in modern Shanghai. Another place that may not be well known is Xu Guangqi's Tomb, which is about two stops away from the business circle. However, the tomb area is not large, and only the inscriptions on both sides explain the special identity of the tomb owner.

You can rest in the newly-built Xujiahui Park when you are tired, but I don't quite accept the design of Xujiahui Park, because this green space has almost completely erased two important witnesses of Shanghai's historical development: Greater China Rubber Factory, the representative of China's early national industry, and Laobaidai Company, the originator of China's recording industry (I went there three years ago and saw that employees were still working in the old building built in the 1930s and 40s). Now there is only a chimney and a lonely foreign building left here.
