South Yunnan (3): Is Maitreya a suitable place to live?

Let me say a few digressions first.

When I was in Kunming, my friend interrupted his trip and went back because of something temporary. The rest of the way, I'll go by myself.

I'm glad to have this small change. Mr. Yu Guangzhong once said: traveling alone has two advantages: first, you can do anything according to your interests. As long as you endure a little loneliness, you will gain great freedom and avoid the burden of dialogue. The second is to be able to go deep into tourist destinations. The more traveling companions you have, the less you can see the world around you.

Make another small statement.

The main purpose of my trip to Maitreya is to investigate and see if Maitreya can become my next place to live.

So, strictly speaking, this is a trip of investigation, not a tour in the usual sense. In other words, I didn't go to the usual scenic spots, such as Yunnan red wine winery, Dongfeng rhyme town, Yike town, wetland park and so on. , but for Maitreya town.

Now get down to business.

At 4 o'clock in the afternoon on March 14, I took the train from Kunming Railway Station to Maitreya, and it took me about half an hour to get there.

I left high-speed railway station, turned right on Zhanqian Avenue, found a high-speed rail bus stop not far away, and got on the high-speed rail line 3, which took more than half an hour's drive. The car drove into the city, and I got off at Lianhua Road and booked a hotel.

From high-speed railway station to downtown, all the way is thoroughfare avenue, and the vegetation on both sides of the avenue has obvious tropical characteristics, although I don't think the temperature here is much different from that in Kunming.

Maitreya is less than 900 meters above sea level, much lower than Kunming. The landform is also very different from that of northern and central Yunnan. The mountain is very short, lying far and low around, looking very dull, lacking the momentum of the northwest Yunnan terrain, but the vision is also wider, just like in Xishuangbanna.

The car is driving on a wide and tidy avenue, and pieces of red azithromycin particles are exposed from time to time on both sides, reminding people that it is still on the red soil in Yunnan.

From time to time, local people are selling loquats, which are big and neatly packed in baskets. Huang Chengcheng's pile is also happy to watch.

Pass by a sign that says this road leads directly to Yunnan red wine winery and Dongfeng rhyme. It seems convenient to get there from downtown.

Fast forward to the roadside of the city. There are many gardeners planting trees. In my opinion, this avenue leading to the city is already beautiful.

The first impression of Maitreya: high score.

The car drove into the city, and the city still didn't disappoint. It can be seen that the municipal construction is great. Just from the perspective of cars, the appearance of the city is not worse than that of second-and third-tier cities, or even better.

There are few people on the street (or related to the driving route of the car), and there are few cars.

The car stopped at one stop, and the warm and friendly driver turned his head and shouted at the back of the car: Here comes Dameihuazhai, you, get off here and walk to the right. See that arch? Go straight ahead from there, and you will find Dameihuazhai. Then there was a commotion behind the car and a group of men and women got off. Sitting at the front door of the car, I saw six or seven old people, men and women, standing on the side of the road, holding in their hands and arms, carrying all kinds of homemade kitchens, eggnog, cartons, baskets, jars and jars on their shoulders. At first glance, this is a unique way to keep fit.

There are also palm trees along the city roads, and the slender palm leaves are swaying in the warm wind, swaying a little tropical customs.

I got off at Lianhua Road, which is beautiful and a real boulevard. Before getting off the bus, the driver told me that Hu Quan Ecological Park was on my right.

Maitreya's second impression: high score.

I have successfully found the reserved host family, which is next to the Bund Hotel in Hu Quan, and it is really on the edge of Hu Quan. I checked in soon. The standard room on the top floor of the third floor has everything, the room is clean and bright, the bathroom is very big, and the water is flowing. Although I can't see the lake view in my room, it's only a stone's throw away, and it's only fifty yuan a night. I have nothing to complain about.

Settle down and have a rest. I'll go out to see Maitreya immediately. It's already eight o'clock at night. Boss Wang told me that the law and order in Maitreya is very good. At ten o'clock in the evening, there are still many people walking on the road ahead.

Of course I'm relieved. Somehow, from the moment I stepped into this small town, even if I pushed forward, my heart was comfortable and comfortable.

Sure enough, a place, like a person, has an aura. The aura of Maitreya town makes people calm.

I walked along the lakeside road in front of the inn, passed the Bund Hotel, and then walked. On the right, there is a door-to-door restaurant. Several of them look like old shops, very fashionable and very different. In a trance, you will think that you are walking in some blocks of Shanghai or Hangzhou-you really have that illusion.

Several old shops have a strong smell of braised chicken, which is delicious and attractive. I can't help but take a few deep breaths: Well, I've heard a lot about Maitreya braised chicken, and I'm going to eat it all tomorrow.

I went straight to Wenquan Road and walked up along Wenquan Road. My destination: Fountain Square.

At this time, the pedestrians on the road have disappeared and there are not many cars. This is a main road, which is very wide. Shops on both sides of the road are still open, but there are no pedestrians or tourists, and there are no customers in natural shops. I think several families are preparing to close, and it's only about 8: 30.

There is no nightlife-I think: it is really a paradise for leisure and pension.

I was alone all the way, but I didn't feel cold or nervous at all-as I said, this small town is inexplicably reassuring. Is it hot spring water? I don't know

The fountain square, the largest and most prosperous commercial center in Maitreya, is still brightly lit, but there are still not many people and cars! Accustomed to the traffic in the city, it has become more and more chaotic in Dali in recent years, so that some people say that Zhonghe Village under Cangshan Mountain is more crowded and chaotic than the village in Shenzhen-so the small town of Maitreya is sparsely populated, quiet and leisurely, which left a deep impression on me.

I walked all the way from the Fountain Square to the night market, which was not crowded (three important words! )。 I bought a few pieces of freshly baked Shiping tofu at the night market for fifty cents. It's big and delicious! I spent another eight dollars on a crutch. After the stall owner cuts it, cut it into small pieces with a small machine and put it in a bag for easy eating. I wanted to take it back to my place to eat, but I tasted a piece, which was too sweet and pure. I didn't pick it up at once and eat it all the way back

I also investigated the prices of other goods in the night market and came to a definite conclusion: the price of Maitreya is lower than that of Dali as a whole.

The third impression of Maitreya: continue to score high.

I walked back along Maitreya Avenue. It's past nine o'clock in the evening, almost ten o'clock. I feel at ease, and the sweetness of sugarcane makes me happy. At that time, there were almost no pedestrians on the road, the street lamps were very bright, and the surrounding buildings, especially the rows of hotels, were also very brightly lit. I was happy all the way, like nobody's business. It was past ten o'clock when I got back to the hotel, and I turned into the Hu Quan Hotel to see it.

When I returned to my room, I was a little excited. I didn't feel strange about this town where I first met, but I felt very comfortable and at ease. I took a hot bath, made a mask, sighed and fell asleep happily.

The next morning, I rushed out again Every time I go to a new place, I always like to see it in the morning and at dusk. I believe this is their closest to reality.

I first went to the Hu Quan Ecological Park next door. Although I have seen many pictures in advance, Hu Quan Ecological Park still surprised me!

I know this is an artificial lake, not an artificial scenic spot (in fact, almost all the scenic spots in Maitreya are artificial. In the past, Maitreya had almost no tourism resources: no mountains and rivers, no natural scenery, no cultural and historical relics, and it was not an ancient city. Today, Maitreya's tourism industry has leapt to the forefront of Yunnan Province-this is also a small miracle), but this "man-made" is undoubtedly too successful!

The artificial lake covers an area of more than 3,000 mu, with an area of 1.700 mu. The whole park is surrounded by mountains and waters. The water waves in the park are vast, the trees are shaded, and the large mirror-like water surface is clear and happy.

Originally a brand-new man-made scenic spot, it is easy to be superficial, thin and unworthy of the name, and it is often disappointing and boring. Maitreya's artificial landscaping, because of its generosity and genuine goods, even exceeded the expectations of tourists-naturally succeeded in the tourism market. This is a case worth learning.

Not only the ecological park, but also the East Fengyun, the Wetland Park and even the winery are all surprises. A friend visited these places and sighed when he came back: I really like Maitreya Buddha. It surprises me again and again and moves me again and again.

After leaving Hu Quan Ecological Park, I went straight to braised chicken and braised chicken rice noodles. There are two brand braised chicken shops on the hot spring road nearby, one is braised chicken on Mars and the other is Zhu Yuan.

I visited two restaurants, not only tasted braised chicken rice noodles (Ma Shi) and rolled rice noodles (Bamboo Garden) on the spot, but also packed half a braised chicken for each restaurant.

The braised chicken rice noodles here are all small bowls and large bowls in 7 yuan 10 yuan. Braised chicken is slightly higher than bamboo garden. The bamboo garden weighs 70 Jin and the horse history weighs 80 Jin, both of which are lower than Kun's 98 Jin.

According to my taste, I don't want to say rice noodle rolls. It's all the same. It's all ok. When it comes to braised chicken, the "dry stew" taste of horse is more authentic, which belongs to the first bite, and the more you chew, the more fragrant it is. Bamboo gardens are more like Kunming's, wetter and fresher.

Both companies are well dipped in water.

After dinner, I made a special trip to Maitreya Library, but I didn't go in because of time.

I turned around again, took a bus to the passenger station, took the bus from Maitreya to Kaiyuan, then took the bus from Kaiyuan to Jianshui directly, and entered Jianshui ancient city around 5 pm.

Along the way, I was thinking that Maitreya, a small town that was originally short of tourism resources, actually used artificial attractions to occupy a place in Yunnan, a major tourist province. Why?

There are more than one reason. I just want to say one thing here, which I feel deeply.

After observing Maitreya for a day and a night, it always reminds me of those tourist towns in Thailand, such as Chiang Mai. In my opinion, they are all tourist-friendly destinations. This friendliness does not refer to the attitude of local people, but to the overall tourism development concept of the government.

The governments of these places are committed to providing tourists with real, cheap and good things: beautiful scenery, delicious food, beautiful things, beautiful city appearance, perfect tourism supporting services and facilities, and so on. This is the right way for a place to develop tourism.

The development concept put forward by Maitreya municipal government is: innovation, green, openness and enjoyment-I think they have really put it into practice, not just on paper. Especially the last "* * * enjoyment".

Having said that-so, what's the final answer?

Is Maitreya a livable town (including Yang Kang)? )

The answer is yes.

Of course, for some people, it will be too hot here in summer. But as far as March is concerned, personally, Maitreya is cooler than Jianshui and definitely cooler than Pu 'er version. Maitreya in winter is much warmer than Dali in Kunming.

So on the whole, the climate of Maitreya is desirable.

After visiting Maitreya, a friend who specializes in travel strategy commented that this is a small town with foreign flavor, not a small county town with local flavor.

I quite agree with her. Especially on the way from Maitreya to Kaiyuan, and from Kaiyuan to Jianshui by car, almost all the small counties you see are dusty. In contrast, the small towns in Maitreya are more beautiful and outstanding.
