2014 Tour of Beijing Professional Road Cycling Race

The 2014 Tour of Beijing is the final year of the agreement signed between the organizing committee and the UCI. It also comes at a critical moment when Beijing and Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province jointly bid to host the 2022 Winter Olympics. Taking this opportunity, the Beijing Municipal Sports Bureau and the Zhangjiakou Municipal People's Government will jointly host the Zhangjiakou stage of the Tour of Beijing. The only designated neutral service vehicle for this event is provided by UCC, a leading brand of sports bicycles, to escort the entire event.

The 2014 Tour of Beijing will be held in Beijing from October 10th to 14th. The competition lasted for 5 days and was divided into 5 stages. It passed through 3 counties including Chongli County, Zhangbei County and Chicheng County in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, Yanqing County, Changping District, Huairou District, Mentougou District and Dongfang District in Beijing City. There are 7 districts and counties in Chengdu, Xicheng District and Chaoyang District, with a total stage distance of 764.5 kilometers. By then, 144 athletes from 18 of the world's top teams will come to Beijing to compete.

The specific route of the five stages:

The first stage: 167 kilometers individual race, from Tangyin Hotel in Chongli County, Hebei to Zhangjiakou Municipal People's Government, passing through Chongli County , Zhangbei County, Zhangjiakou City;

The second stage: 147.5 kilometers individual race, from Tangyin Hotel in Chongli County, Hebei Province to Badaling International Convention and Exhibition Center in Yanqing County, passing through Chongli County, Chicheng County, Yanqing County County;

The third stage: 176 kilometers individual race, from the south entrance of Guichuan Square in Yanqing County to Chaoyang Temple in Qianjiadian, Yanqing County, passing through Yanqing County, Changping District, and Huairou District;

The fourth stage: 157-kilometer individual race, from Guichuan Square in Yanqing County to the top of Miaofeng Mountain in Mentougou District, passing through Yanqing County, Changping District, and Mentougou District;

The fifth stage: 117-kilometer individual race , from Tiananmen Square to the East Gate of the Water Cube, passing through Dongcheng District, Xicheng District and Chaoyang District.

As the highest level event of the UCI and an event sponsored by the State Sports General Administration and the Beijing Municipal People's Government, the Tour of Beijing has a high standard and competitive level unmatched by other domestic cycling events. It is one of the most important sports events in China. It is a major event that the world and international cycling enthusiasts pay enthusiastic attention to and actively participate in.
