"12345, have something to ask the government" has become a jingle among the citizens of Erdos, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

On September 2nd last year, 12, the "Mayor Hotline 12345" in Ordos City was officially opened, with the goal of observing the sufferings of the masses, truly solving problems for the people and unblocking public demands. Over the past year, citizens have reported to the "Mayor's Hotline" more than 20 issues such as environmental protection, labor and social security, transportation and communication. "Mayor's Hotline" * * * received 3684 calls from the public for various inquiries, complaints, help and suggestions, with a settlement rate of 75%.

In order to ensure that the "Mayor's Hotline" truly becomes a bridge between cadres and the masses, the city has standardized the office rules of the "Mayor's Hotline", further clarified the work scope and procedures of various government agencies and units, and promptly referred the problems reflected by the citizens to relevant departments for handling, tracking and supervising, and strictly controlling according to the principles of "graded responsibility and centralized handling" and "whoever is in charge is responsible".
