"Sea World" was originally a luxury cruise ship built in France, formerly known as ANCEVELLER. In 1962, French President Charles de Gaulle cut the ribbon and launched it as its exclusive luxury cruise ship. In 1973, China bought this ship, renamed it "Minghua", and undertook to transport our engineering and technical personnel to help Tanzania. Later, it was hired by an Australian travel company to open up a sea tour route. In 1979, Liao Chengzhi led a delegation to visit Japan on the "Minghua", which was known as the "Sino-Japanese Friendship Ship". In 1983, it was berthed in Liuwan, Shekou Coast, and transformed into a commercial tourism project such as hotels and entertainment, becoming the first maritime tourism center in China. In 1984, when China leader Deng Xiaoping visited Shekou, he stayed on the "Minghua" and wrote an inscription for the ship-"Sea World".
