Is there an airport in Yingkou?

There used to be an airport in the southwest of Yingkou fishing boat factory, also known as the seaside police airport. The airport is located on the left bank of Daliaokou.

The airport was built in the 13th year of the Republic of China (1924), with rudimentary facilities and a dirt runway. On March 1 day of the same year, Zhang Xueliang, the general office of the Aviation Department of the three northeastern provinces, flew from Fengtian (Shenyang) to Yingkou for inspection. This airport is mainly by airmail. After the airport is opened, airlines from three northeastern provinces and five planes will be used for civil aviation, and the route from Fengtian provincial capital to Yingkou will be opened.

After the "September 18th Incident", in order to rule Yingkou for a long time, the Japanese rebuilt the original dirt airport and paved it with sand and stones. The runway runs north-south, with a length of1000 m. There is a 13m-high target podium in the northeast of the airport (the site is in the yard of Yingkou Fishing Wheel Factory), and there is an iron flagpole of 1 at the top for hanging flags. The whole airport covers an area of more than 50,000 square meters.

1932, the Japanese and puppet authorities bought more than 10 small planes, which strengthened the vigilance along the Bohai Sea. Each plane is about 10 meter long, with two wings, amphibious, and the cabin can seat 3 to 4 people. This machine is noisy. Usually, airplanes are stored in hangars and towed by people or cars when they are used. This plane carries out flight inspection and training performance, and also trains pigeons. When the plane returns, it sometimes lands in the Liaohe River and then drives directly from the water to the airport. Since then, Fengtian (Shenyang) has allocated 1 large aircraft 1 horsepower for the use of Liaohe Marine Police.

The airport has not been used for a long time since it was built. 1945 In August 15, few planes took off and landed here, but 1947 only a few Kuomintang planes came here. This airport used to be the venue for the sports meeting. Now it is the land used by Yingkou Paper Mill in Tang Wei.
