Journey to the West Episode 6-August 8th

At 8: 30 in the morning, we arrived in Chongqing as scheduled without taking a cruise. While waiting for the train to Chengdu, my parents and I had a foot massage at Fuqiao store near the station and had a good time. When the train arrived in Chengdu smoothly, we had just checked into Shuting Hotel and then headed for the famous Du Fu Caotang.

Du Fu's Caotang is the former residence of Du Fu, a great realistic poet in China in the Tang Dynasty, when he lived in Chengdu. In order to avoid the "Anshi Rebellion", Du Fu built a small house in Chengdu and lived there, formerly known as "Chengdu Caotang". Du Fu lived here for nearly four years and has written more than 240 poems so far. His poems are not as romantic and free as the poet Li Bai, but full of feelings of worrying about the country and the people, so later generations respect him as a poet saint.

There is a statue of Du Fu in the thatched cottage. He was thin and skinny, which showed how poor his life was at that time. It is said that it is such a humble hut. In autumn, a strong wind swept away the thatch on the house, and the autumn rain soaked the clothes and quilts in the house overnight. In the darkness, Du Fu had mixed feelings, and wrote an immortal poem "The hut was broken by the autumn wind".

Looking at the newly renovated Du Fu Caotang, listening to my mother chanting the poem "All the high-rise buildings rise from the ground, and all the poor people in the world are happy", my eyes stayed on the famous couplet in front of the Caotang for a long time-the Caotang will be handed down to future generations, and the poems will be immortal.

In the evening, dad invited us to eat hot pot. Sichuan's spicy taste deserves its reputation. I dipped my chopsticks in a little red oil soup and licked my tongue. I immediately felt my tongue like a raging fire, hemp and spicy, reaching my throat. That smell is indescribable. I can only use iced drinks to relieve the pain in my mouth. Alas, it seems that I can't be a "spice girl" in Sichuan.
