Detailed guide to Jiuzhaigou Valley

Jiuzhaigou is a natural scenic spot full of humanistic feelings. Here you can feel the mysterious nature, which brings people unlimited passion and hope, attracting a large number of tourists every year. I have deep feelings here, so I would like to share some specific strategies with you.

A one-day trip to Jiuzhaigou is enough. We flew to Jiuhuang Airport in June, then got off the plane and took a car to Huanglong Scenic Area. We spent 4 hours exploring Huanglong Scenic Area and boarded the airport bus to Jiuzhaigou at 1:30 pm.

Note that this is the entrance to Jiuzhaigou, not the county seat of Jiuzhaigou. The entrance to Jiuzhaigou Valley is very close to the gate of the scenic spot, where you can eat, drink and have fun. If you live in the county town, the accommodation will be more cost-effective, but it is only an hour away from the scenic spot, so you can consider where to stay. Here we introduce Jiuzhaigou in terms of clothing, food, housing, transportation, and play.

Get dressed. In June in Jiuzhaigou, the temperature difference between morning and evening is large, less than 10 degrees Celsius in the morning and around 30 degrees Celsius at noon. Where are the clothes? Jackets such as short-sleeved shirts, thin pants, and hoodies are all acceptable, but cotton-padded jackets are not allowed. Shoes, summer tennis shoes and sneakers are all acceptable.

For dinner, we chose a local Tibetan hot pot restaurant about 6 kilometers away from the entrance of the scenic spot. Found it on Meituan, no name mentioned. The beef and lamb felt impure and synthetic. The hot pot has a barbecue function and the butter tea tastes good. The songs and dances performed were performed by members of my own family.

Highland barley wine is divided into high-end and low-end. High-end wine tastes good and has a maximum temperature of 40 degrees. Low-end wine is like high-end wine mixed with water and a little sugar. It’s a scam.

The next night I went to a Tibetan-themed restaurant near the scenic spot. I had the hand-caught mutton, which was recommended. Two people only ordered half. The monk buns are not delicious, the pickled cabbage and potato shreds are not delicious, and the sea buckthorn juice from Siguniang Mountain is very impure. This blend is too harsh and not recommended. The free refills of horse tea and highland barley wine taste particularly good. Breakfast, the free breakfast eaten directly at the hotel is very simple, including pickles, porridge, eggs, and steamed buns.

When I arrived at the hotel (there are many Meituan and there are many scams. It is recommended to book a big hotel), I booked a smaller hotel, which was not very good. There are no disposable slippers, the house is quite old and the hot water supply is not good. The most important thing is that the WIFI is too useless. The hotel owner will sell you some private car phone numbers back to Chengdu, as well as some ancient love tickets. This is unnecessary.

For some reason, Jiuzhaigou does not have such fast hotels as Home Inn, Hanting Hotel, and Ibis. Most of them are local hotels, which feel average. However, this is not recommended. Many famous scenic spots in China have performances of ancient love. They are similar, but they are all the same thing. If you have seen any ancient romance in China, there is no need to go anywhere else.

Travel: When I come, the airport bus will take you to a parking lot. The bus driver had already secretly given the message to the taxi driver in advance. The number of taxis must be based on the number of tourists on board. When getting off the bus, the taxi driver directly tells tourists that they can dial the meter. In fact, there are articles on the meter, starting taxi fare and starting kilometers. If you ask the driver, he will tell you that he doesn't know. When you arrive at the place, you will be charged directly by the meter. The price is definitely exaggerated.

Tourists need to pay attention to avoid pitfalls, and on the way here, the taxi driver will continue to take the trouble to promote various attractions, and will also ask for your phone number, which of course cannot be given to him. There are a large number of Qingcheng electric vehicles in Jiuzhaigou. The starting price is 5 yuan for 20 minutes. It seems that you have to recharge 2.5 yuan within 10 minutes of timeout. There is a bicycle path in the ditch, which is very good. You can ride an e-bike comfortably in the ditch.

There is a bus station in Jiuzhaigou. There are two buses to Chengdu every day, at 8:10 and 8:30. You can book tickets online on Route 365 ***. Remember to book tickets in advance.

Small motorcycles

How is Jiuzhaigou overall? The scenery is certainly nothing to write home about. Jiuzhaigou is the second scenic spot, and no other scenic spot dares to be the first. As for that

At the entrance of Jiuzhaigou, anyone you meet will sell you products or tickets, and taxis will often strike up a conversation with you and ignore you. On the other hand, taxi drivers only have one word for driving: too arrogant, honking their horns wildly, and driving in the wrong direction. It’s time to get some good stewardship.

Because Jiuzhaigou is limited to 30,000 people per day, it is best to buy tickets in advance on the official WeChat account Jiuzhaigou. Tickets and sightseeing buses must be purchased, totaling 259 yuan. After booking the tickets, the park will open on time at 8 a.m., and you can enter the scenic spot by swiping your ID card. There are many tour groups and senior citizen groups entering the park. Because the management is not in place (it is recommended to learn from Zhangjiajie), as soon as the sightseeing bus arrives at the door, the agile aunt will bend her left elbow and jump in line to seize the high ground. The scene is far better than grabbing eggs. Please be careful not to get hurt here.

Jiuzhaigou currently has three tourist routes, centered on Nuorilang Central Station, in a Y shape. All buses in the scenic area, even the buses at the door, must first go to Nuorilang Central Station, and then depart for the three lines.

First of all, the correct route

Due to the Jiuzhaigou earthquake on August 8, 2008, the virgin forest, Swan Sea, Arrow Bamboo Sea, and Panda Sea on the right route have not been restored and cannot be opened to the public. You can only take a sightseeing bus at the entrance of the scenic spot, and then take a sightseeing bus from Nuorilang Center to Wuhua Sea. Please remember:

You cannot take a bus to Nuorilang Center to Jinghai or Pearl Beach, you can only go directly to Wuhuahai. After watching the Five Flowers Sea, take a bus to Pearl Beach or Jinghai or Nuorilang Visitor Center.

For the three scenic spots on the right, a 3-hour drive is enough, but even faster than 2 hours is not enough because most tourists choose this route in the morning. It is recommended to walk from Nuorilang Visitor Center to Wuhuahai, Jinghai Pearl Beach, and then take a bus from Wuhuahai to Nuorilang Visitor Center.

This way you can avoid the crowds of tour groups, and you can also take the bus first and take other routes. I think Jiuzhaigou is not big, and climbing a small hill is not as easy as Jiuzhaigou. People who are healthy can choose to take the right route.

When I first arrived at Wuhuahai and Jinghai, I still felt amazing. After actually playing it for a while, I got used to it.

I feel that Pearl Beach is boring.

In fact, mirrors are especially suitable for going in the morning. There was not much wind at this time and there were no ripples on the lake. The entire lake looks like a mirror, reflecting the surrounding mountains.

Second, the left route

The route on the left is particularly simple. At this time in June, there are only two scenic spots on the left - Changhai and Wucaichi. It is not recommended to hike up the mountain for these two scenic spots because the distance is too far, and most of the sea along the way is dry and there are few scenic spots.

The bus route is from Changhai to Nuorilang Visitor Center. After visiting Changhai, walk to the nearby Wucai Pond, get on the bus at Wucai Pond, and return to Nuorilang Visitor Center. When walking, you will encounter many small vendors selling alloy silver products, jewelry strings, etc. I suggest you go to Taobao to buy.

Changhai is the highest point of Jiuzhaigou. Unfortunately, no one was exposed to oxygen or altitude sickness on the way back and forth. Feel free to play boldly. Gray-haired people enjoy themselves here. They think Changbai Mountain Tianchi and Jiuzhaigou Changhai are both big bubbles, but Changhai is better.

The colorful pool is so blue that it looks like a gem, but it is too small to see.

Third, the lower route

The lower route is the most essential part of Jiuzhaigou. I always walk on two legs when it comes to this essential part. Taking the bus is sorry for my eyes. The bus route is from Nuorilang Visitor Center, Nuorilang Waterfall, Rhinoceros Lake, Tiger Sea, Shuzheng Village, Sparkling Sea, Shuanglong Sea, Bonsai Beach, Temple Scenic Area.

I recommend walking from Nuorilang Visitor Center to Nuorilang Falls and Rhinoceros Lake. Remember to take the plank road inside. For details, please refer to the plank road on the map. Don't take the plank road along the road. The road plank road is not as beautiful as the inner plank road. You can visit Laohuhai, Shuzheng Village, Sparkling Sea and Shuanglong Sea in sequence. As for the bonsai beach, reed sea, and temples, the scenery is average.

After the whole trip, I estimated that I would leave the park at 5 o'clock. It was just the right time and it wouldn't be that kind of tour. I suggest that scenic spot managers strengthen the management of scenic spots. Many intersections don’t even have road signs and there are too many vendors. No one managed to get on or off the bus. Starting from Nuorilang Visitor Center, you can only reach the end points of three routes. You are not allowed to stop and play along the way, you can only return to your destination one stop at a time. So inhumane. As a well-known mature scenic spot at home and abroad, there are still many areas that need improvement, and I hope they can be improved.
