Seven-day route recommendation for self-driving tourist routes in western Sichuan

Western Sichuan tourism is a tourist route that many of our self-driving enthusiasts like very much. The scenery along this road is changeable, with mountains, ancient towns and rivers and lakes, and it is autumn recently. The scenery here is particularly beautiful and colorful.

D 1: Chengdu-Wenchuan-Lixian-miyaluo Town

About 260km, 4.5h

On the first day, I set out from Chengdu and arrived in Wenchuan County, where I visited the museum, had lunch and then moved on.

In Lixian County, which has the largest and best-preserved Qiang village in the world, you can enjoy the rich ethnic customs and watch the meandering Zagunao River flow by. The quaint, elegant and chic Qiang village architecture is shocking.

Autumn is crisp, and miyaluo, the largest red leaf viewing place in China, has ushered in the most beautiful season of the year. The layers of forest are all dyed, and the gorgeous colors are dazzling.

D2: miyaluo Town-Marcand-Guanyinqiao Town

About 160km, 3h.

On the way from Lixian to Marcand, you will climb over Zhegu Mountain. Compared with the snowy winter, the golden color of ten thousand mu in autumn is more eye-catching.

Xisuo residence on the other side of Zhuokeji Tusi Guanzhai is the best preserved ancient town in Jiarong Ancient Street. Maybe you will feel that the scale is not large, and it will be done in one go. But this is nothing new to attract tourists.

Along the way, you can see devout pilgrims kowtowing to the land of faith. Kannonji, Chu Sijia of Guanyinqiao Town, Jinchuan, is famous all over the world for offering sacrifices to the four-armed Guanyin Bodhisattva, also known as the "Little Potala Palace".

Admission: Zhuokeji Tusi Guanzhai 60 yuan/person, Sotheby's Mansion is free, and Chu Sijia Kannonji is free.

D3: Guanyinqiao Town-Luhuo County-Bamei Town

About 330 kilometers, 5 hours.

Kasa Lake, the largest waterfowl habitat in the western Sichuan Plateau, is located in Luhuo County, and is also next to National Highway 3 17. When driving by, the scenery of Lake Casa in autumn can be swept away.

Unlike the golden meadows around Lake Casa, the Chongde grassland is full of orange sea in autumn, where the wheat straw is swaying gently in the breeze, dancing like a free spirit in the sun.

In Dawu's Bamei Town, golden rape blossoms have come to an end, replaced by the vast autumn scenery on Bamei Grassland and the rugged rocks in Moshi Park, which are illuminated by golden sunshine.

Admission: Casa Lake is free, Bamei Grassland is free, and 60 yuan/person in Moshi Park (reference).

Tip: Local Tibetans may charge a cleaning fee. If they don't want to pay for cleaning, they can enjoy the scenery along the way.

D4: Bamei Town-xinduqiao town-Muya Holy Land

About 100km,1.5h.

Xinduqiao, known as a photographer's paradise, finally revealed her most unique beauty in autumn. The rich autumn colors on both sides of the road are particularly touching under the sunshine.

Go all the way along the straight expressway, as if you can go straight from this intoxicating color world to the most beautiful paradise. Autumn in xinduqiao is enough to amaze you.

Over the mountains, the panoramic view of Gongga Xuefeng finally ushered in the Muya Holy Land next to xinduqiao, where the beautiful scenery of Rizhao Jinshan can be seen in minutes.

The monstrous sea of clouds and blue waves emerge and roll before our eyes, bringing the ultimate visual experience. Soft clouds stretch forward and connect with the edge of heaven. On the observation deck of Muya Sanctuary, there is a great chance to see the magical Buddha's light.

The endless green space has changed into a golden coat in autumn, and the change of color has not changed the richness and beauty of this land. The winding Omiku River flows slowly, where you can ski and get in touch with the groundhog.

Tips: You'd better arrange your trip in advance and book your accommodation, otherwise the price will be high.

D5: Muya Holy Land-Mugecuo-Kangding

About 92 kilometers, 2.5 hours

Walk out of the elegant sea of Buddha's light and clouds and come to Mugecuo, the hometown of love songs. There are not only touching love stories that have been handed down to this day, but also the most amazing colors in autumn.

On the bank of Mugecuo, the largest plateau lake in northwest Sichuan and the only seven-color seaside with hot and cold springs in China, the dense virgin forest presents colorful colors, reflecting the clear lake water.

In this colorful world, chasing the waves and playing with sand and eating tofu pudding eggs cooked in original ecological hot springs can be described as being in heaven.

Driving to Kangding city at night, the endless Dadu River runs through the whole city, and the bright neon here will definitely make you forget where you are.

D6: Kangding-Moxi Town-Yanzigou

About 100km, 2.5h

Starting from Kangding, enjoy the magnificent canyon scenery along the 3 18 national road, and go all the way along the winding mountain road to reach the important town on the ancient tea-horse road-Moxi ancient town in Luding.

Feel the thick history of this ancient town with a thousand years, touch the unique humanistic customs of Moxi, and let you indulge in a foreign land with a glass of Moxi wine.

Then I went to Yanzigou and experienced the most magnificent red stone scenery. The bright ochre red brings a powerful visual experience, and the red maple leaves all over the mountains make people feel romantic and affectionate.

Admission: Moxi Ancient Town is free, and Yanzigou is RMB120/person (reference).

D7: Moxi Town-Luding-Ya 'an-Chengdu

About 299 kilometers, 4.5 hours

Leaving the quaint Moxi Town, I came to Luding County, stood on the Dadu Bridge, looked at the roaring Dadu River at my feet, thought about the difficulties and obstacles that the Red Army soldiers crossed, and finally returned to Chengdu before nightfall.
