The first wonder of Wuling
Many scenic spots in the audience. In fact, most famous and interesting scenic spots belong to geological landscapes, especially karst landforms. These geological landscapes often take tens of millions of years to form today's beautiful scenery, which is not only unique, but also has the magical beauty of nature. A typical example is Zhangjiajie in Hunan, which is world-famous. But in fact, in Guzhang County, Xiangxi Prefecture, Hunan Province, there is also a unique geological landscape in China-Red Stone Forest, which is called "the first wonder of Wuling".
In fact, the geological landscape of the red stone forest is mostly distributed in Yunnan and Guizhou provinces, and there are many places, but most of them are red-gray stone forests. Like the ancient red stone forest in Xiangxi, it is brightly colored, and every stone is covered with a layer of fine lines, which is as primitive, natural and shocking as the red coral on the seabed. What's even more amazing is that these rocks will change with the weather, time and season, and red rocks will become redder when the weather is clear.
This strange phenomenon is mainly because the main component of rocks is carbonate, which has a slight chemical reaction when it meets water. It is the only red carbonate stone forest scenic spot in the world that was formed during the Cambrian period, and it was formed about 500 million years ago. At that time, it was the ocean, and a large number of sediments mixed with carbonate were deposited on the seabed. After thousands of years of continuous crustal movement, wind erosion, water erosion and extrusion, it has reached its present scale. If we are lucky, we can even find primitive seabed fossils in it.
It is these magical creatures that make the rocks of Guzhang Red Stone Forest strange and varied. To the east of the Stone Forest, there is a stone pillar, which is 12.26 meters high. Weasion Wei is like a leader. If you look at it from another angle, the stone pillars seem to stand on the mountains and rivers, much like Confucius. Two tall stone pillars on the side, shaped like heroines and Qu Zixing, are so vivid. There is also a kind of stone in Shilin called shilianhua. Rock weathering forms huge petals, much like blooming lotus flowers. On a sunny day after rain or in the starry sky in Wan Li, the lotus will show a pale yellow halo, which lasts for a long time and is very magical.
A large number of paleontological fossils are embedded in the rock strata of Hongshilin, which records the biological evolution history from 500 million years ago to the present, among which trilobites were found before dinosaurs were born. Perhaps, because of these unique stones, it was once a place for Tujia people to worship their ancestors. At the highest point of the scenic spot is the altar of Tujia nationality. Imagine that Tujia people are at a loss when they look at the creatures in these stones, so they can only let wizards set up an altar here to dance with the sky and ask God for advice, hoping to get some enlightenment.
The Red Stone Forest Scenic Area also retains the strong cultural traditions and customs of Tujia people, such as Maogusi dance, swing dance, Nuo opera and lanterns, as well as the Tujia customs and habits represented by crying for marriage, vaulting horses and catching up with the New Year. Maogusi dance is a kind of dance that shows the production and life of Tujia people. The number of performers is between 10 and 20, simulating the actions, words and singing of the ancients. Of course, the original altar has now become a stage for displaying Tujia culture.
Walking into the red stone forest of Guzhang is like walking into a red kingdom. Red stone forest, cliffs, stone walls and stone peaks are densely covered. In the past few years, they have been listed in the World Geopark. If you go to furong town in western Hunan, you can go to Red Stone Forest. Depart from Guzhang and expect to arrive in about half an hour. If you go to Guzhang Red Stone Forest, don't step on the nearby red stone. Rare geological wonders deserve everyone's protection.
