According to the shape, combination and characteristics of the tombs, archaeologists judge that the tombs in this cemetery are mainly tombs of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, which are the tombs of the middle and lower class nobles and civilians of Chu State in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty. Because the cemetery is located in the southwest of the hotel natural village, it is named the hotel cemetery.

According to reports, most of the tombs discovered this time are tombs of Chu nobles in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, including more than 400 precious cultural relics such as chariots and horses pits, bronzes, jade articles, lacquered wood, silk and linen fabrics and leather. , have been unearthed. Surprisingly, there are also musical instruments used by Chu nobles, such as harp, tiger bird drum and so on. Its base is two tigers, which are drum-mounted on birds. Dengcheng is 2.7 kilometers southeast of this cemetery. It is understood that the discovery of this tomb group is of great significance to the study of Chu culture in Dengcheng area and provides a batch of new materials for the study of Chu culture. According to historical records, from 770 BC to 256 BC, the Eastern Zhou Dynasty lasted 5 15 years. In 678 BC, the ancient state of Deng was destroyed by Chu and changed to Dengcheng. Considering the important military geographical position here, the king of Chu was named Dengcheng, and then a large number of Chu nobles moved to Dengcheng to settle down.
