Introduction to Godzilla

Godzilla (ゴジラ, Godzilla) is one of the most well-known representative symbols of Japanese pop culture and the world. He first appeared in the 1954 movie "Godzilla". Since then, Godzilla has become a worldwide pop culture icon, starring in 28 films and also appearing in other media, including video games, novels, comics, television series, and more. In June 2015, Yoshizumi Kenichi, the mayor of Shinjuku Ward in Tokyo, Japan, issued a "Special Resident Certificate" to the monster Godzilla, making him a "resident" of Shinjuku Ward. At the same time, Godzilla also received the "Shinjuku Tourism Ambassador Appointment Letter."
