Why did Tang Xiaoqiang stay in a hotel?

Tang Xiaoqiang, Turkish, born in 1992. His real name is Idris Talha Kartaf. He fell in love with Chinese culture because of Jackie Chan's Kung Fu movies.

In 2010, 18-year-old Idris Talha Kartav went to Xiamen University to study. When he was in Rome, he gave himself a Chinese name called Tang Qiang, but people preferred to call him "Tang" or "Brother Tang". After graduating from graduate school, Tang stayed in Xiamen and took over his family's marble business, often traveling between Xiamen and Turkey.

In 2016, Tang became well known for participating in Hubei Satellite TV's "Informal Talks". This is a column focusing on global culture, with young people from different countries serving as promotion officers.

Tang was killed in the earthquake in Turkey on February 6.

Before the earthquake, Tang was participating in a short-term training program of the Turkish Tour Guides Chamber of Commerce (TUREB) and stayed at the Isis Hotel in Adiyaman. Within a few days, many Turkish media paid attention to the situation of the 43-person tour guide team at the Isis Hotel, and Tang was always on the list of missing persons.

Before the early morning of February 10, 2023, local media stated that 18 student tour guides had died in the earthquake. Tang's friends said that after the earthquake, the staff never gave up looking for Tang. After Tang's father arrived at the scene, he kept looking for his son in nearby hospitals, but all hospitals said they did not accept Tang. Later, after determining the burial location, his father Tang stood guard by the ruins, waiting for his son to be rescued by rescuers.

In the early morning of February 10, it was confirmed by the front rescue team that rescuers found the remains of 10 victims, including Tang·.

Turkish local TV station NTV once reported that during the process of transforming the Isis Hotel where Tang was killed from an apartment into a hotel, the supporting part was cut off, resulting in the loss of earthquake resistance and the collapse of the entire building. After the news of Tang's death came out, the program crew, guests and many of Tang's friends sent messages of condolences to express their condolences. On the morning of February 10, the official blog of the "Informal Talks" program team posted a message of condolences: "Have a good journey, our favorite brother Tang."
