Recalling "Edo" in Japan
April 20 17, when we were traveling in Japan, we stayed in shinjuku. Shinjuku is very convenient to go to Sichuan and Vietnam. We can take the Seibu Shinjuku Line to get there.
After getting off the bus, we walked to the central area, an old street with bell towers and traditional Tibetan buildings.
This is the most famous bell tower in Sichuan and Vietnam. It is said that it has a history of more than 400 years. Now it rings four times a day, and there are many tourists punching in here.
Tibetan architecture has two floors, many of which only have shops downstairs, but there are also many shops upstairs and downstairs. There is a shop with a small studio from the outside. When I went in, I found that the store was very big. The original building facing the street and the building behind it are seamlessly connected, and the area has increased several times, but the decoration style is the same. Upstairs and downstairs are used for business.
The following photos were taken in the old street.
We met several ladies wearing kimonos and men wearing Japanese samurai costumes in the street, which gave us the illusion that someone in the film and television had traveled through time and space.
As an ancient town, Sichuan and Vietnam naturally have many ancient temples and shrines. In one of the monasteries we entered, there are two cherry trees that may be hundreds of years old, almost 20 meters high, with lush branches and magnificent momentum.
There are many shady courtyards in Sichuan and Vietnam. In front of a yard, we actually saw many beautiful koi fish in the clear water of the roadside ditch. We are surprised!
Two or three stops away from Sichuan and Vietnam, my daughter found a large cherry blossom forest near a winding river not far from the railway, so on the way back, we temporarily got off the bus and walked along relatively simple roads and country roads for about 20 minutes to watch and photograph this cherry blossom forest.
To my wife's surprise, on the bus back to Shinjuku, a short old lady was holding a stroller. Our first reaction was that her grandson or granddaughter was lying on the stroller, but when we looked carefully, it turned out that there was a puppy under the carpet. The puppy was lying quietly with narrow eyes, not noisy or barking, and it was very good. When the old man saw our surprised faces, he smiled and nodded to us kindly.
(The photos in the article were all taken by myself with my mobile phone, and some of them are not clear enough. Please forgive me. )
