It is a comprehensive strength town in Wenzhou, the economic center of Cangnan County, and an important material distribution center in southern Zhejiang, southern Fujian and northeastern Fujian.

Longgang has obvious location characteristics. Located in the south bank of the Aojiangkou, one of the eight major water systems in Zhejiang Province, it is only 5 kilometers away from the East China Sea, with a nearby river surface of 450 meters wide and a high tide depth of 6.30 meters, which can be developed into the second largest port in southern Zhejiang. Its north is connected with the national highway 104, and it is the land hub of nearly 600,000 people in the Jiangnan Plain going south to Fujian and Guangdong and north to Wenzhou, Shanghai and Beijing. Longgang has a vast economic hinterland, and its coastal plain is the most developed and densely populated area in Cangnan, accounting for 24.9%, 53.5% and 65% of the county's total industrial and agricultural output value.
