The Historical Evolution of Stockholm aranda International Airport

Aranda Airport started operation on 1959, but it is only used for flight training. It was not until 1960 that it began to be used as public transportation, and the opening ceremony was held in 1962. At first, there was only one passenger terminal building, namely Building 5. Aranda Airport was used as an intercontinental route at 1960 because the runway at Bruma Airport was too short. Its name "aranda" was recruited before the opening ceremony. The old name of rlinghundra comes from ──Arland, with the letter -a after the name, it imitates the Swedish place name (landa), and Landa is the Swedish verb "land".

1983, the new terminal building (now called Building 4) was completed, and the domestic airline was moved from Bruma Airport to aranda Airport. 1990 two new domestic passenger transport buildings-No.2 and No.3, located on the south side of the first domestic passenger transport building. 1992, the use of Building 2 was suspended due to the decrease in usage, and then it was re-used for international routes. The first two business buildings were subsequently renumbered as Buildings 4 and 5. The third runway was built between 1998 and 2002, but it was not put into use until 2003.
