What should I do if the quilt smells sour?

The quilt smells sour and needs to be cleaned.

Quilts are usually covered with quilts to avoid frequent soiling. The quilt cover should be changed frequently, and the quilt inside the quilt cover can be washed in the right way.

But not all quilts can be washed or dry-cleaned. To make the quilt more durable, we must choose the correct cleaning method.

Different materials of quilts have different cleaning methods.

(1) Silk quilt: not washable, not dry-cleaned, not chlorine bleached, not ironed.

If there is a dirty place, just wipe the dirty part with clean water. If the stain is not big, you can gently wipe it with a neutral detergent; It's best to go to a professional dry cleaner to partially wipe with special detergent, and then dry at low temperature to prevent the fabric from shrinking.

(2) Wool quilt: not washable, not bleached, not ironed, washed with dry cleaning essence or sent to dry cleaners, not exposed to the sun.

(3) Duvet: It is generally recommended to dry-clean it once every 3-5 years, without washing and frequent exposure, and put it in a ventilated place to dry for one or two hours.

(4) Towel quilt: washable without dry cleaning. It is recommended to wash with neutral laundry detergent to avoid the towel from hardening.

If the towel quilt is not too dirty, it can be dry-cleaned. If the towel quilt is too dirty, you can only use the whole washing method.

(5) Quilts: Quilts can't be washed with water, and the cleaning method is mainly dusting outdoors.

(6) Polyester quilts: no dry cleaning, no chlorine bleaching, low-temperature ironing, water washing, machine washing, neutral detergent or soap powder washing, and weak washing and dehydration in the washing machine.

Extended data:

In order to better use all kinds of quilts and prolong their service life, besides proper cleaning, attention should be paid to maintenance.

Maintenance methods of different quilts in use:

(1) Silk quilt:

The outside of the silk quilt core should be covered with a quilt cover before it can be used, otherwise the quilt core will be easily contaminated with dust and stains. Don't press the quilt when sleeping, and don't wrap it under your body, so as to keep the fluffy feeling of silk quilt. When using silk quilt, children should be prevented from wetting the bed and jumping on the quilt.

If the newly made silk quilt smells like silkworm chrysalis, it can be dried in a ventilated place for two days. Silk quilts should be aired in time, with an interval of 1-2 weeks and an interval of 1-2 hours each time. Don't expose the quilt to the sun for a long time, which will cause the silk to break. Pat it with your hand after drying to keep it fluffy.

Before storage, it should be aired once to eliminate internal moisture as much as possible. Don't store it in a humid and sultry environment, and don't put it in a plastic bag to prevent the silk from getting wet, producing peculiar smell and losing its warmth and breathability. Avoid heavy pressure, and don't pile up heavy objects on the quilt to avoid thinning and hardening. Don't use chemicals such as mothballs to avoid polluting silk.

(2) Wool quilt:

When you just take it out of the package, you can bask in the sun for 2-3 hours and pat the quilt, which will restore elasticity. When using, please add a quilt cover and put it in a sunny place to dry regularly every week or so. It is best to cool from 10 am to 3 pm, and the front and back sides can be dried for 2 hours.

Before storage, dry in the sun for 4-5 hours, and then fold the quilt after cooling. Put 2-3 insect repellents into the wool quilt, wrap them in plastic bags, seal them and put them in a dry place. The quilt should not be stressed when it is stored.

(3) duvet:

Cover the quilt cover when you use it. If it is dirty, duvets should be sent to dry cleaners, while ordinary fiber quilts can be washed directly by machine.

The fabric of the duvet is treated with anti-down, and even a small hole will be drilled down. Be careful when using it to avoid being cut by sharp objects.

When the weather is fine, hang the quilt in a well-ventilated place without direct sunlight. The best time is from 10 to 3 pm.

(4) towel quilt:

If there are no obvious dirty marks on the towel quilt, you don't need to clean the new towel quilt, wrap it with breathable articles (such as sorting bags), put mothballs to prevent insects from eating, and then store it in a ventilated and dry wardrobe, being careful not to press it. ?

There is a lot of rain in summer and autumn. After the rainy season, it is best to take out the towel quilt to dry in order to prevent mildew.
