Which island in Tahiti is fun? What is the difference between Jasmine Island and Bora Bora Island?
Tahiti has several other islands. You can choose the island when you go. Here are some travel notes about these two islands that will help you on your trip. You can keep an eye on these when you go, so check them out now.
Font I was on Booking.com at the time, and we stayed on Moorea Island for three days and two nights.
I chose FareVaihere Hotel (3 stars), which has good price and reputation, and charges 2,206 yuan for 2 nights. Before departure, my boss and I wrote many emails back and forth to confirm a series of issues, from transportation to meals, entertainment, etc. Boss Philip
was very nice and took the trouble to answer all my questions. Therefore, the arrangement on Moorea Island should be said to be very smooth. Let me talk about the experience and feelings of the whole drama:
1. How to get to Fewari Hotel:
There is only one road on Jasmine Island, which is 63 kilometers around the island. It takes about 30 to 40 minutes to drive from the airport to Fawei Hotel.
2. Facilities of Farvaihere Hotel:
The Farvaihere hotel is not big, with only four wooden houses and is close to the seaside. The room was very clean and tastefully decorated. There are mosquito nets, refrigerators, electric fans, water heaters (to boil water for drinking), no TV, free tea bags, instant coffee powder bags and sugar, and a large bottle of purified water in the refrigerator. There are lounge chairs on the beach where you can relax. There is also a small pier deep into the sea.
3. Less than 10 minutes’ walk to the left from FareVaihere Hotel, you will see a house with a big Coca-Cola sign written on the wall on the left. There is a small shop here where you can buy some daily necessities. The opening hours are not from morning to night, the rest time is from noon to 15:00, and then the door opens. It closes earlier on weekends.
4. Walk a few steps further and you will reach the small store. To the left is a private beach called Ta'ahiamanu. There are tall coconut trees, beautiful beaches and sea views. Watching the sunset here is a pleasure. The background music is cheerful violin music played by locals. There are sailboats and yachts in the distant sea. They are mixed with the golden sunset, like a beautiful landscape postcard.
5. If you go further, you will see the Hilton Hotel on Jasmine Island (still on your left). Their house has a beautiful floating house with beautiful sea in front. It would be beautiful to take photos at sunrise and sunset. We considered booking a dinner at their place, not because the food was special, but because one of their restaurants (called Taotea) is right in the middle of the water house. During dinner in the evening, the hotel lit up the lights into the sea, attracting a large number of sharks (probably blacktip sharks) to cruise back and forth, which was a special companionship.
6. Three meals at Fare Vaihere Hotel:
Breakfast (not included in the room rate) comes in two forms: "Continental set meal" and "a la carte". The package includes coffee, milk, hot chocolate, tea (unlimited refills), bread (with butter and jam), eggs, pancakes and fruit plate. A package fee of 1680XPF per person is charged. These items can be ordered individually (suitable for people who don't eat much), and each sample is charged. I think people with small appetites should still pay zero points.
Lunch is very simple, only providing fruit salad and vegetable salad, guests can choose, with some bread. This dinner is quite unique. Since the hotel only has four cabins, it can accommodate up to four families. Everyone gathered in the small restaurant of the hotel and ate together as a family. For example, our first dinner was with a French couple and an American couple. Everyone will chat and eat, and the atmosphere is very good. Philippe
Every evening, three courses are specially prepared for everyone: appetizer, main course and dessert. Personally, I think the taste is average, especially the desserts.
If you want to eat out, Philip
I can give you some suggestions (depending on what you want to eat) and help you make a reservation over the phone. Many restaurants offer transportation (free of charge). If not, you can ask Philip in advance.
For you, hailing a taxi couldn’t be more convenient.
7. One-day tour on Jasmine Island:
Two projects have been booked on Jasmine Island, a one-day snorkeling tour on Miti Tour and a half-day four-wheel drive tour on Frankie Franc .
The one-day snorkeling tour is mainly to visit stingrays (Ray) and blackfinreefshark (blackfinreefshark), with a maximum of 12 guests per boat, then snorkel in the coral garden, and finally have a barbecue on the reef island Lunch. I highly recommend this trip because if the beauty of Moorea Island can only be seen from land, it is definitely deficient, you have to go to the seaside to fully appreciate it. The sea water here can show several colors of light blue, green, sky blue, and dark blue within a short distance, which is absolutely beautiful. Be sure to choose a sailing program that starts in the morning. The light and colors are at their best at this time, and the sparkling sea is as calm as a mirror. You can't help but want to touch the blue mirror and try to stir it.
The boatman is a dark-skinned old handsome guy with great personal charm. He took us to see sea turtles (the bottom of the boat was very clear) and dolphins (there were more than 10 of them. What a surprise, I didn’t expect this show). In addition to two key snorkeling events (I'll go into detail about the snorkeling experience later in the "Snorkeling" chapter), he also shows you how to turn them on during lunch.
This project is booked through the official website, and it is not difficult to operate. Check the itinerary you want to participate in, ask about the price, and the other party will send you a bank payment link. After entering, enter your credit card information (UnionPay is not supported, VISA cards are also acceptable). After confirmation, you complete the payment (you will receive a deduction SMS from the bank), and then send an email to the other party to confirm whether they have received the payment. Note that the other party will tell you via email the time and place of the event to pick you up. It's a good idea to print this email notification and take it with you.
Moorea Island (Moorea Island)
I spent 4 days and 3 nights in Bora Bora. The reason why I spent one more day designing than Moorea Island is because Bora Bora Island It’s so famous, I want to experience it more. Still on Booking.com.
We chose a rural Temanuata hotel with an economical price and good reputation. It was rated as 2 stars and cost 3,043 yuan for a three-night stay (including shuttle bus fare). It was the lowest-priced beach hotel you could find at the time of booking (1,000 yuan is the lowest-priced 2-star hotel per night, considering the price level of hotels in Bora Bora), and you couldn't cancel in advance. It will be deducted immediately after booking and is non-refundable. Let’s talk about the experience and feelings of the whole drama:
1. Bora Bora’s airport is on an independent reef island. When you get off the plane and pick up your luggage, you need to take a boat to pick up guests from various hotels (some hotels are on another island). If the hotel is located on the Big Island (the largest island has mountains), you must take the Air Tahiti ferry (the fare is included in the ticket, it is a catamaran, larger than other hotel pick-up boats) to the Big Island From the pier, take the pick-up car arranged by the hotel (the driver will pick you up at the disembarkation point with a hotel sign) to the hotel. Just reverse the return trip.
2.Temanuata Village Hotel is a family hotel. The front volume is very small and has a very narrow layout, extending from the street (the hotel entrance) to the seaside, about 30 to 40 meters long. There are more than 10 wooden houses on the left and right sides of the entrance. The outside of the houses looks like thatched houses, which is a bit unique. This room covers an area of ??approximately 18 square meters. No TV, no air conditioning, ceiling fan, refrigerator, microwave, cutlery, cups and plates, electric kettle. There is a small entrance hall outside the house with tables and chairs where you can rest and chat, eat and hang out clothes. The advantage of this hotel is that it is close to Matira Beach (the most popular beach on the main island) and you can get into the water in a few steps. And its location is on the east side of the tip of the southernmost island of the big island. You can watch the sunrise on the beach outside the hotel, or you can walk 3-4 minutes to the beach on the west side of the tip of the island (so close) to watch the sunset. The location is great.
3. Village Temanuata Hotel does not provide lunch and dinner, and the room rate does not include breakfast. However, you can order a continental breakfast set which is more expensive than hotels on Moorea. There is a supermarket 30 meters in front of the hotel entrance, where you can buy bread, bowls of instant noodles, milk, instant coffee, drinks, biscuits, cans and other food and beverage items.
Then walk along the road on the right for 5 to 6 minutes and you will find the Mai Tai Hotel (easy to find, you can get there when you see a water house). The hotel restaurant can order meals for lunch and dinner. The food tastes average and the dishes are rich. No problem eating a full entree. I love his coffee, it tastes great.
The Temanuata Village Hotel has a restaurant on your left and the InterContinental Hotel is just a few steps ahead.
You can have food in our restaurant (high-end hotels are more expensive). I highly recommend you take the road on the left for less than 1 km. There is a Matira Beach restaurant, which is a restaurant that combines French and Japanese cuisine. The steaks, sushi, and burgers all taste good and the prices are lower than Intercontinental. It’s worth a try. So although the accommodation conditions of VillageTemanuata Hotel are average (it is 2 stars after all), the location is very good.
4. There is a residential town called Vitape (pronounced "Waihepei") on the Big Island, which is about 10 minutes' drive from the Temanuata Village Hotel. The hotel can arrange a pick-up and drop-off (after a fixed time of 2 hours) at a cost of 500XPF/person one way. You can buy Tahitian specialty black pearls and other souvenirs at Vitape. The place is small and easy to eat. What may take time is shopping. You can also buy wood-carved souvenirs in the town. You can take a look.
5. After going out, turn right at the Temanuata Village Hotel and walk for less than 5 minutes. There is an AVIS car rental point on the right side of the road. You can rent bicycles, motorcycles, cars, and electric 2-person vehicles. The circumnavigation of Bora Island is only 32km, so driving around would be a good choice (unfortunately, I forgot to bring my driver’s license).
6. Half-day tour of Bora Bora
Bora Bora has booked two half-day tours, one is a pure snorkeling half-day tour with Reef Exploration Company. The other is a nature exploration four-wheel drive tour.
The half-day snorkeling tour is great. Snorkeling guides lead you to explore the most amazing underwater world of Bora Bora. This tour includes four snorkeling spots: Coral Gardens, Eagle Ray Discovery, Manta Ray Discovery and the Aquarium. If you have passed the swimming skill level and are fearless in deep water (5 meters to tens of meters deep), I strongly recommend you to participate in this activity.
After four trips, we have already circled the Bora Bora Lagoon by speedboat. Along the way, the water color keeps changing, showing light green, dark green, light blue, sky blue, dark blue, cyan and other colors. It's very beautiful.
I booked this trip through the official website. The booking and payment process is exactly the same as the snorkeling trip on Molly Island. Very easy to operate.
