What are the conditions for marriage in Maldives besides ID cards?

What certification materials must be submitted to apply for marriage abroad?

1. Submit the proof of marital status of both parties (the foreign proof must be notarized by the notary office);

2. Submit the superior competent personnel department of the applicant's unit to prove that the applicant and the asylum seeker are unmarried couples;

3. Submit a certificate issued by a foreigner, notarized by the notary office of the destination country or certified by Chinese embassies and consulates abroad, requiring domestic personnel to get married;

4. For countries that have not established diplomatic relations with China, valid entry certificates must be submitted.

Registration procedures for foreign-related marriage applications

1. If China citizens and foreigners (including foreigners permanently or temporarily residing in China, overseas Chinese and foreigners residing in China) voluntarily get married in China, both parties must apply for registration with the marriage registration authority designated by the people's government of the province, autonomous region or municipality directly under the Central Government where China citizens are registered.

Both men and women applying for marriage registration must abide by the Marriage Law of the People's Republic of China and the relevant provisions of these Provisions. 3. China citizens and foreigners applying for marriage registration shall hold the following documents respectively:

A. Citizens of China:

(a) my household registration certificate (including ID card);

(2) A certificate of my name, gender, date of birth, nationality, marital status (unmarried, divorced, widowed), occupation, nature of work, and who applied for marriage issued by the people's government at the county level where my household registration is located or by an organ, school, institution or enterprise at or above the county level where my work unit is located.

B. foreigners:

(1) My passport or other identification and nationality certificates;

(2) A foreigner's residence permit issued by the public security organ, or an identity certificate issued by the foreign affairs department, or a certificate of temporary entry and residence in China;

(3) A certificate of marital status issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (or an organ authorized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs).

C. foreign citizens:

(a) my passport or passport identity and nationality certificate (stateless)

(2) Alien residence permit issued by the public security organ;

(3) A certificate of my name, gender, date of birth, marital status, occupation and the person applying for marriage issued by the people's government at the county level where my domicile is located or by an organ, school, institution or enterprise at or above the county level where my work unit is located. In addition, both men and women who apply for marriage must also submit the pre-marital health examination certificate issued by the hospital designated by the marriage registration authority.

4. The following China citizens may not marry foreigners;

(a) military personnel, diplomats, public security personnel, security personnel and other personnel who have important secrets;

(2) Persons who are undergoing reeducation through labor and serving sentences.

5. All China citizens and foreigners who have complete certificates and meet the requirements of these Provisions may apply to the marriage registration authority with their certificates and photos of both men and women. Upon examination and understanding by the marriage registration authority, in accordance with the Marriage Law of the People's Republic of China and these Provisions, marriage registration is granted, and the registration formalities shall be completed within one month, and a marriage certificate shall be issued. Marriage certificate must be affixed with photos of both men and women, and stamped with the special seal (steel seal) for foreign-related marriage registration of the people's government at or above the county level.

6. China citizens and foreigners seeking divorce in China shall file divorce proceedings with the people's court in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Civil Procedure Law of People's Republic of China (PRC). Those who ask for remarriage shall be treated as married.

China citizens and foreigners applying for marriage shall pay the marriage license fee and registration fee to the marriage registration authority. I shall bear the translation expenses.
